2013 WTF-KHU Taekwondo Program Coaches course (Nov.

11-24, 2013)

Greeting from 2013 WTF-KHU Taekwondo Program. The WTF has been conducting the WTF-Kyung Hee University Taekwondo Program in cooperation with International Taekwondo Academy of Kyung Hee University. This program is aimed at training athletes and coaches. It is the part of the WTF Taekwondo Solidarity Program to help our Member National Associations to promote and to develop Taekwondo, as well as to foster Taekwondo in their countries. I would like to inform you the 2013 WTF-KHU Taekwondo Program for Coaches. This coaches program(sparring and poomsae) will be held in 11th to 24th of November in 2013. The training will be go along sparring and Poomsae/Demonstration as separately, and the participants will train with specialized professors and instructors in Kyung Hee University. It will provide not only teaching skills of Taekwondo but also theoretical backgrounds such as Philosophy, Nutrition, Measurement and evaluation, Biomechanics, and Analysis competition and rules. I convince this program will give you the best opportunity to improve coaching skills and knowledge to go for next steps. I hope many coaches in your country would have a good chance to join with our program. For this purpose, Member National Associations are requested to recommend taekwondo hopeful thoughts in their countries, in accordance with the conditions of participation and requirements of applicants set forth with the attached outline. Course 1) Course for Sparring/ Poomsae & Demonstration coach a. Dates: November 11 (Mon) 24 (Sun), 2013 (2 weeks) b. No of participants: 40 / coaches c. National quota: two per country in principle d. Age limit: no limit e. Application deadline: September 30, 2013 Place: Kyung Hee University (Global campus, Gyeonggi Province) Conditions: Roundtrip airfares: To be paid by the participant or pertinent National Association. However, airfares may be reimbursed by the WTF to the national association through the deduction from the WTF development Fund, subject to prior approval by the WTF. Tuition fee/room, food, and other expenses: To be jointly supported by the WTF and KHU. Arrival in Korea: One or two days before the start of the program Insurance: Participants are required to be insured before their arrival in Korea. Duration of stay: Participants are required to shift out of their accommodation from Kyung Hee University no later than two (2) days after the completion of the course. Daily allowance: Member National Associations should ensure that their participants have adequate daily allowances during the period of the course. The WTF or Kyung Hee University will not be responsible for any other expenses than tuition fees and room & board.

Content of education: 1) Main Training(Class will be separated as Sparring and Poomsae/Demonstration): [Sparring] Athletic training for Taekwondo Athletes, Sparring [Poomsae/Demonstration] Analysis of Poomsae movement, Poomsae, Demonstration and selfdefence 2) Theoretical Class: Taekwondo philosophy, Nutrition for TKD players, Measurement and Evaluation in Taekwondo, Biomechanics of Taekwondo, Analysis of Competition and Rules, etc. 3) Cultural Class: Korean language, K-pop Dance, Korean culture(Folk dance, Taekkyon etc.), Taekwondo Aerobics, First aids & Taping, Sports massage etc.

Local transportation: Cost of local transportation between Incheon Airport and Suwon should be paid by participants, who will be picked up at a place in Suwon designated by KHU. Details will be provided when KHU sends its acceptance of application. Certification: Graduation certificates jointly signed by the presidents of the WTF and Kyung Hee University will be awarded to participants who successfully complete their courses at the end of the program. * Note: Participants who do not meet the standards for the course will not be awarded the certificates.

Nonetheless, special consideration will be made for countries where taekwondo is less developed. Announcement of successful applicants: Member National Association will be notified via e-mail on the acceptance of the application as soon as the KHU receives all related documents for application.
