Quilt Raffle - See the beautiful quilt made by Diane Wadsworth as a gift of love to raise money for the funding of our intern. It will be on display at St. Paul and at various community functions. Congregational members are invited to each take an envelope of tickets to sell. A drawing will be held on November 20, 2013. Danbury Community Garden Please help yourself to produce, share any extra, take out your frustrations on a few weeds. Thanks to Dick and Rose Marie Arn and all who have helped make a great garden this year! Celebration Chorus will return to practice on Wednesday, September 4th at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul, and will sing on September 15 as part of our worship for welcoming our new intern. Food Pantry for September 21, St. John is to bring 1 or 2 lb. box of spaghetti noodles. St. Paul is to bring spaghetti sauce. Next Food Pantry is October 19th. Lutheran World Relief Projects WELCA is asked to bring crayons, 16 or 24 count, and receiving blankets. Council Meetings St. Paul will be September 12 at 6:30 p.m. and St. John will be September 19 at 7:00 p.m. Internship Committee Next meeting is September 12 at 5:30 p.m. at St. Paul. The St. John prayer chain contact is Myra Prokop at 419.798.5101. God promises that our prayers are heard! Prayer Shaw Ministry Resumes meeting on September 11th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul. They will meet Wednesdays before Bible study at St. Paul. Needed are white shawls for baptism; miscellaneous shawls for our church family and outreaches. Mission Sundays for Northwest Ohio Synod The third Sunday of each month is Mission Sunday and an offering basket is set out for donations to assist the ministries of our Synod, which includeTrinity Lutheran Seminary, Lutheran Outdoor Ministry of Ohio, Lutheran Disaster Relief, Global Mission, ELCA World Hunger and others. Clean Up Day will be on Saturday, September 7, at 9:00 a.m. at St. John. Please help if you are able. SNAP Ministries (Supporting Native African Pastors) Advised us that their Yaounde Learning Center has grown to 35 students. They are thrilled at the number of interested men and women who want to be trained for working in ministries. Pastor Claude from SNAP Ministries Visits! It was exciting to share Vacation Bible School and our Tall Timbers Worship with Pastor Claude. The kids attending VBS earned $586 for the children of Cameroon! Plus, we will add the amount of a noisy offering from July 28th brings the total to over $700! Heartbeat Pregnancy Center On Sept. 8th will be their annual Walk for Life. The Walk/Move (skating, running, biking, etc.) will take place in Port Clinton and Genoa at 12:30 for lunch and 1:30 for the Walk. Port Clinton will be at Lakeview Park and Genoa will be at Veterans Park.
