The lig ht of the Shaykh/Mentor co nt ains the light of his Shaykh/Mentor, whic h co nt a ins t he lig ht o f t he Pro phet ˇ. That is w hy it is so po werfu l.

O f co urse, o ur ego s resist t his pur ific at io n. That is o ne o f t he rea so ns w hy it is so difficult to perfor m muraqabah/Suf i Meditation. Ano t her is t hat , in muraqabah/Suf i Meditation,

Indeed, t he ego w ill be ver y happ y w it h it s o ld st at io n. It ha s no need t o beco me a sla ve of the trut h or a serva nt of the Prophet ˇ. It has no need fo r suc h acco unt ing. But we do , if w e ho pe to adva nce upo n t he Pat h o f Rig ht eo usness. We must pract ice muraqabah/Suf i Meditation eac h nig ht , refle ct ing upo n o ur act io ns, a nd t aking o ur due o f pra ise o r crit ic is m fro m o ur Shaykh/Mento r; without such se lf-e xa minat ion, we ma y spend our whole lives he ed less of our bad act io ns.
