March - April I966

Dear Friends, You will rejoice with us to know that our unaccompanied baggage was released on March 3 after being in the custom house for over two months. You can imagine what the place looked like with ten barrels and several crates# It was very exciting and
was occasion for much reminiscing as certain gifts and articles reminded us of

certain people and places back home. You were very generous and helped us fill the barrels and crates with quite an assortment a light plant, tape recorders, microphones, tapes, tools, things for the Children's Home, clothes for us, pots and pans, toys and even some "goodies" to eat. We thank you for each gift, fcr your concern for us, and for your prayers for us,

No doubt you have wondered what we have been doing while waiting for our baggage Almost as soon as we arrived there was a Men's Retreat and I preached at both evening sessions. We visited in each of the churches and I was invited to preach in each one. I preached at youth meetings, at open air services, and went with the other missionaries down the Belem-Brasilia highway to have a three-night meeting.
After the first of the year I had a class each Tuesday night for the men of the Outeiro Road Church on "How to Preadh." I led a three- night series on '"Church Leadership" in preparation for election of officers and Bible school teachers at Marambaia. For three Thursday nights I preached on stewardship at the Agulha church, A young man who finished the Bible correspondence course comes to study on

Wednesds^, He went with us to see a baptism, as he had never seen one, and attended
church T,rith us once. By the time you read this we will have gone to Nova Olinda for a tent meeting. Pray that God will continue to use us.
In February nr, and Mrs. William Summer took most of their vacation to visit and see firsthand the mission work being done here. He spoke at each of the four churches

and I interpreted for him. It was a real blessing to us, to the other missionaries, and to the brethren here to have Bill and Jeanette. We pray that their lives were enriched and they will share their experiences and challenge others. They are accepting speaking dates near Atlanta, Georgia to show slides and tell what they
heard and saw. In their own words i t was a "marvelous vacation,"

You will notice a new picture of our family n this Report. Ann (l2) is nearly as
tall as her mother. She is very interested in music, both instrumental and vocal.

She likes to play the piano and is practicing on the melodica which was given to us
on furlough. She is active in the youth program at Marambaia and goes calling every

other Lord's Day with the young people. David (lO) has gotten interested in fishing in the creek behind the house, and the latest is vaulting. Mary Lou (5) is locking
forward to going to school in 196?.. Already she can write her name and several other
words.

As soon as the light plant can be set up and a place to record radio programs can

be taped to spread the '^-"ord. There has been some misunderstanding we will not
have a radio station, but merely a recording studio and we will purchase time on
local stations,

March 31j 1966 was a holdiay to celebrate the second anniversary of the anti-Communist revolution, Vje have seen much progress in these two years. Do pray that the doors of Brazil will remain open to the Gospel,
There will be a Men's Retreat April 8, and in July there will be a V.B,3, at Mararnbaia and two weeks of camp. Pray for us by name, for the proposed radio programs, for the camp program, the follow-up work for the correspondnece course, for new Christians in Nova Olinda, for a high school program for American children here, for the Children's Home, and
for the four churches,

^'Je are grateful to the Meadovrview Christian Church, Selma, Alabama and the Christian Church at^lante-rsvi-He-^Al-a-bama-f-o-r a speeial gift-forthe Children's Hemeand-ee that will enable us to reproduce a set of Bible slides in Portuguese, We thank God for each of you who are faithful to supply our needs.

How wonderful the Lord has been to us. These are the only words that we can use to express our feelings for what He has done for us since we last visited with you. People have come to the Lord, previous plans made are beginning to bear fruit, God*s leading is seen.

One of the Presbyters (elders) of a local Assemvly of God has invited me, and I
have accepted, to teach them a Bible class every 5 days. I have been with them for two meetings, and there has been a mutual sharing. Pray for us in this venture. They are eager to learn God*s Word.

(we have converted them into slides). Pray for one family of six that is studying
prayers.

Appointments have been and are being set up to evangelize with some filmstrips

with me in this series. Also, a young man who has a small store is about to finish the slides, and is very close to the Kingdom. His name is Jose, Include him in your

Perhaps the best news yet is that about the radio program. The station manager
has promised to give me a definte answer as to the hour and day available about the 20th of this month. Our initial plans call for a half hour program weekly. The name

we have chosen is "Volta a Biblia" (Back to the Bible). Keep this in your prayers to
God,

May I also inform you that our health in general is excellent. Many wonder just how we are healthwise. Well, thus far, everything is fine. Pray for us constantly. Since the rainy season is about ended, the possibility of outdoor services be comes a reality. Our Christians enjoy these open-air services, and much good comes
from them. May the Lord use these to convert many. Ann and David are growing like weeds. Ann is tall as Mama, and finished the

seventh grade last month. David is in the fifth, and is a real good help to Daddy in the general work around the mission. Mary Lou, who is five years old, is really growing, and very much pleased with herself. One Lord's day in May she sang all by her self for the morning service, and since, is anxious to sing to Jesus, Pray for our children, brethren, that they will grow in grace. Our hearts are grateful for the response that has been given to our needs, and may we thank you once again for your interest. Please pray that the high school

situation for Ann (which will become a problem a year from now), might be resolved.
There is a possibility that we might move to a city farther south where they do have
a high school.

May God richly bless you.

Dear Rope-holders;

May the God of peace be with you as v/e greet you once again from the Amazon Valley,
Brazil. There is much to share with you this time, God has been so good to us and the
work here.

Happy are we to let you know that there will be a supervised high school in Belera where Ann and David study, and for the time being, there won't be any necessity of moving. We thank you for your prayers in this.
The church at Marambaia has now finished the foundation of its new building, and

plans to go on with the footings and brick work as soon as possible. Fray for us in
this. I serve as elder in this church.

^^^lat a wonderful experience it was to spend two-and-one-half weeks with the Clint
Thomas family in Urucara Amazonas. Clint had invited me to hold a meeting for the new

congregation. The church is just two years old, in a very difficult area. There was much opposition from the Roman Church, but the Lord bless the work and the Holy Spirit
was present. Fourteen responded and six later making a total of 20. The church new counts members. Pray for the Thomas family. He is doing a great work, and needs
your prayers.

If for some reason you don't receive an answer from us, please X'jrite again, as we have found that many of our letters aren't getting through to the States, and we be lieve that many of your letters aren't getting to us. We welcome your letters.
Please send your checks to Keith and not to us directly.

We have been invited to continue vjith a Bible class in a private school in Belera. Bro. Stan Wohlenhaus began this, and we are meeting once a week with the class. Please pray for this class. The teacher invited us.

We have traded horses. Our old horse (52 Plymouth) vjas traded for a 63 Chevy carry
all, Brazilian, The Plymouth was at the point of either repair it or get another car. We believe that this should last us a good seven years or more. It's a three seater and will give good service.

Pray for the Central Church in Belem and the plans being made for it. Pray for Sr, Leiros and family with whom we are studying weekly x>Jith filmstrips and explanation. Pray that our health will be good.

Ann will be 13 pretty soon and Mary Lou 6,

more years of service.

David had his 11th birthday recently.

Mom and Dad wi]-l celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary. Last August we had an anni versary of some sorts - 12 years in the Amazon Valley. Pray thpt God will give us r.any

November-December I966
D.ear Co-laborers in Christ:

You are invited to join with us in our 12th Christmas season in the Amazon Valley.-May the Prince of Peace be ever close to you and bless your efforts for Him
at this.

The Robison family wishes all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The Lord has blessed us with good health, and has given us victories in His Name,

Physically and spiritually God has protected us and we praise His Name,

Belem will be the place where the Annual Missionary Conference of the missionaries
of the churches of Christ will meet. We are expecting people from five states and the Federal District and our special lecturer, BrOo Seth Wilson from Ozark Bible College.
There should also be some men from the non-instrument Church of Christ with us who are

working in the Sao Paulo state. Pray for us that God will lead our discussions.

For the past six weeks I have been visiting the state prison where an ex-brother
in Christ has been for the past year. He has made a reconciliation to God and wants to continue on with Christ. The opportunity is great in the prison, and we have had con tacts with many there who have shown interest in the Gospel. Pray for Ananias that he
will remain faithful to Christ this time. He should be released before Christmas.

Seven men, faithful workers in the churches, have completed an eight week course in Bible Orientation, Corinthians, and the Life of Christ. They received their Certif icates at special services. We plan to continue this policy of eight-week classes enabling men who work to complete a tx\To year course of study to better prepare them
selves for Christ's work. All of these men are married and have been in the church for a good length of time,

Bro, Jim Moreland has invited rae and another missionary to hold a meeting for him

in January. It's a new work that he has just begun, and near the place of a tent meet ing which we held this past year in the state of Goias. Join us in prayer for this
projected meeting.

Six people have enrolled in a new Bible course that is being sponsered by the weekly radio program. Many others are receiving the sermons each week in printed form.
We have been on the air for one-half year.

The church at Marambaia continues very slowly with its construction, as they

haven't enough cash, but are doing much better in their giving. If someone would like to help out with the new church lots in Belem, the monthly

payments for your missionaries is $275. All help is appreciated.

Pray for us brethren that God will continue to guide our plans. Pray for the Central Church, Pray for direction in over-all stratergy for the area.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your help in the work during this

past year. We do ask for your continued support for the coming one. May God use us for the saving of many souls for His Kingdom,
In Christ,

The Robtsons
