The Community Innovation Lab (Co-ilab), based in Oshawa is a not for profit organization that provides young people with exciting new opportunities to create impact and prepare for purposeful careers. At Co-ilab, we encourage young people to unleash ideas and showcase their talent, participate in interactive workshops, develop new market driven skills for the workplace or create new ventures to change the world. We currently have the following openings ideally suited to new graduates with an interest in learning while earning. These positions although short term in duration (up to six months), do have a potential for renewal based on the availability of funding.

Associate, Social Entrepreneurship Programs


The Opportunity Over 2013-2014 we will be launching two experiential programs in social enterprise and social entrepreneurship. This position is best suited to an emerging professional, gifted with a commitment to social change and a good knowledge of developing community projects and working with multiple stakeholders. The Role The Associate, Social Entrepreneurship Programs will assist with coordination and implementation of the Real World Skills Studio, the Durham Ideas Den and provide support to social enterprise youth projects.

This will include coordination of workshops, speakers, field research, field trips, sponsors, and the delivery of the curriculum with a faculty of community experts. Pilot programs will be launched in Oshawa and scaled up to other areas. The Responsibilities o Creating a system to ensure participants receive the learning outcomes and tracks their progress o Building and formalizing partnerships with other community organizations to support content delivery, recruitment and hosting of the program o Setting outcomes for the program and working with outside evaluators to implement a project evaluation system o Recruiting volunteers and facilitators needed for delivery of the programs content o Providing marketing ideas for the program and directly recruiting participants for the program The Qualifier o o o o Experience in designing and implementing community programs Working knowledge of social entrepreneurship Demonstrated ability to build relationships with community partners A post-secondary degree or diploma, or a combination of relevant experiences and related education in Social Entrepreneurship or Business Administration/Community Development Preferable experience in producing work-plans, budgets and project evaluations Experience in marketing events and recruiting participants for programs The ability to build partnerships and deliver collaborative programming Competent in Microsoft Office and related software Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Personal commitment to the values and mission of Community Innovation Lab Professional attitude, results oriented, self-directed and flexible.
