Delilah and the Hig^h Priest direet their steps toward the sarrifieial table on which are placed the sacred bowls. A fire is bt-ning- on the flower-trimmed altar. Delilah and the Hi-h Priest take ihebowls.and poor a libation on the sacred fire which flames up, then disappears, to reappear at the third couplet of the invocation. Samson stands in the midst of the stag-e with the child who was leading- him. He is overwhelmed with grief, and seems'to be absorbed in prayer.
