Tlie Figure at top, crowned with roses, is intended to represent joyous dreams, and the one Behind the figures is displayed the rising sun, with bat-like wings, troublesome imaginings. suggestive of Hope. In front of the Seat is a Shell containing the Head of a Cherub; the Twisted Supports of the Back are ornamented with the Poppy and other Flowers emblematic of the subject.
