Mark Herbert QC is an experienced specialist in the law of trusts and tax. His practice covers all aspects of the law relating to settlements, wills, charities and occupational pension schemes, including probate, family provision and breach of trust litigation as well as less contentious applications under the Trustee Acts and the Variation of Trusts Act 1958. He has particular experience in capital taxation, the taxation of settlements and estates, off-shore trusts and estate planning. Trusts and their taxation are at the heart of his practice, and he has had a great deal of experience in advising settlors, trustees and beneficiaries, and in trust drafting. He is ranked as a leading silk in both Chambers UK and Legal 500 directories and sits as a deputy High Court judge of the Chancery Division. Penelope Reed QC has a wide Chancery practice with special emphasis on trusts, wills, contentious probate, family provision claims and tax, both in the UK and overseas. She is recommended by all the leading directories as a redoubtable foe, and praised for her mastery of

contentious probate, trusts and capital tax matters. She is an accredited mediator, a member of STEP, ACTAPS and the Chancery Bar Association and lectures and publishes widely on all areas of her expertise. Christopher Tidmarsh QC has a wide Chancery practice with considerable experience of contentious and noncontentious aspects of the administration of trusts both on and off-shore (including aspects arising in family cases). He is noted for his experience and judgment in tax matters with extensive experience in tax cases before the special and general commissioners and in the High Court and the Court of Appeal. He also has wide experience in dealing with all aspects of pension schemes both contentious and non contentious. He regularly advises public bodies such as the Pension Protection Fund, the Pension Regulator, the Inland Revenue and the Bank of England and is recommended as a leading silk in several practice areas as of the current editions of Chambers UK and The Legal 500.
