Evangelist Joseph Olorunnisola THE WAGES OF SINS The wages of sins is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6: 23. People who die on their sins ( in an unsaved state) will have to face a second death eternal torment in the lake of fire. Rev. 20:15. The only escape route from this second death is to receive the gift of eternal life in the person of the Lord Jesus. Larry King special program of Wednesday, 10/18/06 9.30 pm 10.00 pm provides an interesting, but disturbing picture of the level of ignorance of this generation about the consuming judgment of God. The Topic was about homosexuality and the stand of God on this horrifying sin. Despite the point blank verdict of eternal hell fire on sodomy, as persistently reiterated by the humble evangelist on the program, the two gay participants still vehemently believed that Christ is love and that His substitutionary death on the Cross will continue to take care of whatever sins. What an alarming catastrophic consequence of civilization, freedom, and democracy. Freedom, an offspring of Civilization has evidently become a very powerful tool in the hand of Satan to blindfold a number of people on the righteousness of God and attract them into everlasting lake of fire. The deceitfulness of Civilization: The right of freedom emanating from civilization has engendered an endemic intoxication of public shameless nudity, and pornography, condemnable homosexuality, ungodly right of abortion, irresponsible marital behavior propelling multiplicity of divorce cases, and re-marriages, unabated and reckless sexual lives, juvenile delinquencies, non-observance of the Sabbath, cancellation of scriptural and moral teachings in schools, and total obliteration of the handwriting, shadow and image of God in high places. Christmas has become an ordinary holiday, Easter is no longer of significance, and anything with an appearance of God is now seen as an irritating, offending, and provoking ancient landmark that must be totally erased. Democratic process that is intended to establish the superior wisdom of the majority is now a mechanism of deceit, cheat and manipulation. Satan is strongly at work. There is a fast growing rejection of God, and a blatant challenge of His Personhood, commandments and judgment. This is a generation at war with God. But a generation that abandons God has to contend with His divine judgment the wages of sins: famine, pestilence, and Sword. Jeremiah. 14, Ezekiel 14. No wonder, the world is now plagued with pestilence all forms of cancer, HIV/AIDS, tumor, Ebola virus and all

other indiscernible diseases; Sword horrendous level of homicides, violence, terrorist acts, natural disasters such as frequent earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes, flood etc, and rising cost of all commodities. A battle against God is definitely a lost battle. Only those few who stay on the side of God will escape these catastrophes. Rev. 3: 10-13. Ministers of God are regrettably, and timidly attacking problems such as HIV/AIDS, drug abuse, and violence instead of attacking the root cause abandonment of God and His commandments. We are preaching the abundance of heavens when heavens are substantially shut over a number of un-repenting believers. Ministers of God are getting increasingly focused on wealth rather than harvesting souls unto the Kingdom of God. The straight forward message of Salvation is getting increasingly judgmental and highly opinionated; being compromised to suit the expectation of sacred cows, and income sources. Under intense societal pressure, clergies are becoming servants of the people rather than of God. Indeed, a case for serious lamentation. The faith of a number of believers, and born-again Christians within this terminal generation is also that of Thomas which is not pleasing to God. Our faith appears to be anchored in thought and action along narrow lines, inflexible with the little lateral thinking, obsessed by our targets and driven by fear of possible failure. When we pray and fast, and dedicate our lives to true worship of God and keeping His Commandments for months, and years in expectation of success for suitable spouse, children, employment, promotion, financial blessing, resident permit, or deliverance, and we are not answered at our own time we become dejected, and disenchanted. We stop going to church, our prayer and fasting are reduced or entirely abandoned, and some even turn to fetish sources for assistance while others resign to faith and withdraw into debauchery. We are unnecessarily worried. However, worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy. We compare ourselves with others in terms of children, wealth, lifestyle etc thereby bringing our intelligence and sensitivity into question, and Gods unique purpose for our life into query. If you are truly of the Lord, you must trust irrevocably in Him that your need and desire shall be satisfied. You must, however, reconcile your timeframe to that of God. There is a strategic/spiritual gap. A gap that is intended to test the sincerity and tenacity of your faith in Him. If you are steadfast and unwavering in your faith, you will be richly satisfied with your desires, you will be counted among His own, and you will find your name engraved in the book of life. Psalm 37. Heb.10:35-37. But if you waver and withdraw from him, the wages of sin must be paid: the waiting period will be further prolonged or your desire and want completely forfeited James 1:6-8. Isaiah 30:15-18, Luke 21:19. Why not trust and wait on Him? Sin is disobedience to the commandments, and voice of God. Paul, the apostle of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ clearly provides us with guidance in Romans 1:18-32, 1Corin.6:9-10: Do not be deceived neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, unholy, profane, murderers, pervasive, whoremongers, homosexuals, thieves, kidnappers, liars, non perjured persons will enter the kingdom of God. Be aware that no sinner will ever go unpunished. If you confess your sins, repent, and withdraw from these sins, you will still be punished in this world but forgiven in the book of life. But if you persist and die in sin, believing ignorantly that the death of Christ is for your unholy life, you will be punished in this world and will also end up in hell fire. Exodus. 34:6-7.
