Raipur Division
Misting System: - In summer, temperature in Raipur city
goes up to 48 C and at the platforms it further increases
by 1/2 C due to metallic sheet covers. The misting cooling
system introduced in April2011 reduces the temperature
on the Platform by 14 /15 C thereby providing much
needed relief to the waiting passengers. Cost - ` 10.8
Lakhs for one platform (approx. ` 3000 per running meter)
Raipur is the first Division to conduct Triple Long Haul
Freight trials successfully on Indian Railways.
