Coverage Carr Neige Alpin Winter 10/11

Created and distributed by the two main committees of the French Skiing Federation, Carr Neige is the number one insurance specialist in the mountains. For 2.80 per day and per person, Carr Neige offers you the entire Insurance and Assistance coverage package described below. This coverage applies for the whole duration of your ski pass. This coverage applies to metropolitan France and its bordering countries during the amateur practice of a snow sport.

1. RESCUE AND EVACUATION

From the moment a rescue party is launched up to your transfer to the most appropriate healthcare facility, Carr Neige is by your side. Totally reassuring! >S  earch and rescue cost: the insurer guarantees the reimbursement of all costs incurred by the recourse to professionals to search for or rescue a lost, injured or deceased policyholder, including by helicopter. In France: with no maximum amount; outside of France: 15,000 maximum. >C  overage of the initial costs incurred to transport the policyholder from the location of the accident to the closest medical facility capable of providing initial care, and return trip to the location that the beneficiary was residing at on the day of the accident. The costs corresponding to any other type of transport, notably the case of a transfer from the resort and/or a hospital towards a more suitable medical facility over 150 km away, are covered by the repatriation assistance benefits. >T  hird party payment: in the case of operations carried out by professionals having signed a third party payment agreement, the policyholder shall not be required to advance any additional funds, since the reimbursements will complete the benefits reimbursed by the national healthcare insurance and/or provident funds. In all other cases, the policyholder must show the original invoice for the expenses advanced.

2.  REIMBURSEMENT OF MEDICAL, PHARMACEUTICAL AND HOSPITALIZATION COSTS

From the smallest to the more serious injuries, its totally advantageous! >R  eimbursement of medical, pharmaceutical and hospitalization costs in the event of an accident: the indemnity (up to 3000 with a deductible of 46) completes the benefits reimbursed by the national healthcare system and/or any provident funds. For individuals residing outside of French territory, this indemnity is only paid during their stay in the mountain resort. The following are not covered: personal and exceptional expenses, prosthesis and eyeglass costs, spa cures, the patients contribution to the hospital stay, a private room, doctors charges exceeding the statutory fee, and miscellaneous costs (telephone, television, etc.).

3. REPATRIATION ASSISTANCE

If you are unable to travel, Carr Neige will take you home, along with the members of your family. Totally practical!
In all cases, to be accepted, all requests for assistance must be addressed directly by telephone to Europ Assistance at +33 (0)1 41 85 85 96.

> If at the end of his/her hospitalization, the Carr Neige holder is unable to travel in normal conditions, his/her transport/repatriation shall take place (under medical supervision if necessary) by the most appropriate means, decided upon and chosen by Europ Assistance. >C  overage for the return trip of the children under 15 accompanying the beneficiary if the policyholder cannot take care of them due to the implementation of a service by Europ Assistance. >I  n the event of the death of the Carr Neige policyholder, transport of the body to the location of burial, excluding all funeral costs (within a limit of 1500 for coffin costs) >P  rovision of a replacement driver to bring the Carr Neige holders vehicle home. If no one else can do so following the implementation of a service by Europ Assistance. This assistance is guaranteed for Carr Neige holders residing in the following countries: Albania, Germany, Andorra, Austria, Balearic Islands, Belgium, Belarus, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canaries, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark, continental Spain, Estonia, Finland, metropolitan France, Georgia, Gibraltar, Greece and its islands, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Italy and its islands, Jordan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Madeira, Malta, Morocco, Moldavia, Monaco, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, continental Portugal, Czech Republic, Rumania, United Kingdom and Anglo-Norman Islands, Russia (European portion), San-Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey (European portion), Ukraine, Vatican, Yugoslavia (Montenegro and Serbia).

4. SKI PASS AND SKI SCHOOL CLASS REIMBURSEMENT

With Carr Neige, your unused ski passes and ski classes will be reimbursed*. Totally magical! 4.1.  Unused ski pass and ski school class reimbursement: I  n the event of an accident incurred by the policyholder causing an inability to ski (with a maximum limit of 300). I  n the event of illness, i.e. any change in health preventing the policyholder from skiing and causing an inability to ski for the rest of the stay. This reimbursement (with a maximum limit of 300) shall only be valid if the policyholder has sent the concerned ski passes by mail to Diot Montagne, together with an affidavit from the resort doctor indicating the type of lesion and/or ailment causing an inability to ski, and the duration of the latter, after the application of a 1-day deductible. I  n the event of an early return home of the policyholders family, supported by receipts, after the death of an ascendant, a descendant, a brother or sister, or after a fire, a natural disaster or a burglary in the policyholders professional facilities or main home (with a maximum limit of 300)  In the event of the repatriation of the injured Carr Neige policyholder, and only for the ski passes of the other members of the family holding a Carr Neige (spouse, common law spouse, ascendants and descendants). The claim under this coverage shall only be eligible (with a maximum limit of 450) if the ski passes to be reimbursed have been sent by mail to Diot Montagne at the latest on the day of the repatriation. The date shall be calculated as of the date of repatriation to the fiscal residence. I  n the event of a shutdown of the ski lifts for over 5 consecutive hours per day due to a shortage of electricity or of any other energy supply. The reimbursement shall be made on a prorata temporis basis for the days not skied, with a maximum limit of 50% of the total ski pass price. T  o a parent (and only one) holding a Carr Neige who must care for an INJURED child holding a Carr Neige. This reimbursement (with a maximum limit of 150) shall only be paid if the policyholder has returned the ski passes concerned (of the injured child and one parent) to the ski pass office, supported by an affidavit from the doctor indicating that the child is immobilized and/or unable to ski due to the accident, as well as the type of injuries, and after the application of a 1-day deductible.  If over 80% of the resorts ski lifts (SNTF standards) are shut down by bad weather, for a duration longer than one day, with a maximum of 4 days, and after the application of a 1-day deductible. In  the event of the complete closing of the connections between resorts due to bad weather: this reimbursement shall be equal to the difference in price between the extended ski pass and that of the valley that issued the ski pass, with a maximum of 4 days, and after the application of a 1-day deductible. This coverage shall only apply if the price of the ski pass issued corresponds to a 100% opening of the ski area. * This coverage shall only apply to ski passes with a duration longer than 3 days. The indemnity due shall be calculated on a prorata basis with respect to the unused days, starting on the day after the event, and after the application of the stipulated deductibles. The indemnity shall only be paid upon presentation of the original ski passes (and/or proofs of purchase of the passes and the Carr Neige) and/or the ski school class vouchers, accompanied by documents attesting to the events that caused the partial or complete non-use of these passes/vouchers. 4.2.  Reimbursement of ski passes in the event of loss or theft: the insurer will pay an indemnity to the policyholder on a prorata temporis basis with respect to the unused ski pass, provided that the following documents are presented:  A receipt for loss or theft from the law enforcement authorities and/or a declaration of loss on his honor by the policyholder.  Proof of purchase of the ski pass bearing the policyholders name, with insurance. Original copy of the second ski pass purchased. The indemnity paid shall be equal to the purchase price of a new ski pass, after the application of a 1-day deductible. This coverage applies to ski passes with a duration longer than 3 days, and any day started is considered non-refundable. If the ski pass is found again, no indemnity is due from the Insurer, and the operator will reimburse the cost of the replacement ski pass to the policyholder.

5. DEFENSE AND RECOURSE COVERAGE

Carr Neige covers your defense and assists you throughout any legal proceedings. Totally useful! > Criminal defense and recourse after an accident: The Insurer will cover (up to 7650) the services required for an amicable or legal settlement of a dispute between the policyholder and a third party leading him to exercise his right to contest an allegation or to defend himself before a criminal court, with the understanding that this coverage does not include the payment of sentences involving indemnities of any type:  Defence of the policyholder in the event of any proceedings launched against him in the context of an accident covered.  Recourse: against a third party responsible for a covered accident, to claim damages for the prejudice incurred by the policyholder. 6. ADDITIONAL COVERAGE

Each year Carr Neige improves its coverage. Totally unique!

> Allocation of 75 reduction coupon if you return to the same resort the following year: to be applied to the ski pass if the accident declared to Diot Montagne required hospitalization for more than 3 days. > Ski breakage insurance: In the event of breakage of the policyholders own skis, reimbursement of the cost to rent an equivalent replacement pair, for a maximum duration of 8 days.

7. EXCLUSIONS
Exclusions common to both the insurance and the assistance policies: the coverage shall not apply to the following cases:  Illnesses or accidents that already required care during the month preceding the purchase of a ski pass and that the policyholder was aware of.  Pregnancy and the complications due to this condition, delivery, maternity or voluntary abortion (for the assistance policy the exclusion is limited to: incidents linked to a pregnancy whose risk was known before departure, and their consequences including delivery and in all cases all incidents due to a pregnancy after the 36th week of amenorrhea and their consequences - including delivery).  Spa cures, a need for plastic surgery not linked to the covered event, psychic or psychotherapeutic treatment, including for a nervous breakdown.  Hospitalization after an attempted suicide or any lesion caused intentionally by the policyholder.  Illnesses or accidents linked to alcoholism, drunkenness, or the use of medication, drugs or narcotics not medically prescribed.  Periodic medical check-ups or observation exams.  The consequences of an intentional act committed by the Carr Neige holder, or the consequences of deceitful actions.  Accidents caused by participation in motorized sports (on land or in the air), hang-gliding, paragliding, bobsledding, skeleton and ice hockey.  Accidents occurring during professional sports competitions (the tests taken under the supervision of the ski school - flocon, toiles, chamois, flche, etc do not enter the framework of this exclusion and are therefore covered). Expenses linked to the Assistance coverage paid without prior approval from the Assistance organization.  Consequences of infectious risk situations in the context of an epidemic, exposure to infectious biological agents, exposure to chemical agents of the combat gas type, exposure to incapacitating agents, exposure to neurotoxic agents or agents with remanent neurotoxic effects, leading to quarantine measures or specific preventive or surveillance measures from international health authorities and/or the local health authorities in the country where the policyholder is staying, and/or the national health authorities in his own country. *Non-contractual document excerpted from the insurance policies of the contract No. AG 056864 (Comit de Ski de Savoie) and AG 368570 (Comit Ski Mont-Blanc) taken out with EUROP ASSISTANCE (valid from 1/11/2010 to 31/10/2011).
