Being A Good and Successful Teacher with Strategies of Learning

In Teaching Learning Process, teacher need some strategies to creating English skill successfully. Some strategies here can be form using good material completely, instrument enough, and also teachers act in how to manage class learning more attractive and interesting for students. It is important for teacher to get great purpose in studying. But in this case, teacher is sometime not perfect in teaching. Most teacher can covering all materials that must be learned. They can describe and give the subject or material fluently to the student in classroom. Something like this is not enough to make student be clever, smart, and also can do anything after studying. However covering material is important but there is more important for teacher to explain it to student with some strategies here. It means learning strategies which operate just like procedural knowledge. There are causes teacher have to use strategies in Teaching Learning Process, such as : Strategies can be learned : Student who are taught to use strategies and who are given positive experience where they are applied will learn more effectively than student who have had no experience with learning experience. Academic language learning is more effective with learning strategies. Learning academic language in context area among English Source Language students should follow the some principles that govern reading and problem solving among native speaker of English. Learning strategies transfer to new task. Learning strategies will be used by students on new task that are similar to the learning activities on which they were initially instructed to use learning strategies.

Then, teacher have to select one or more strategies to include in instruction. The selecting process requires familiarity with the curriculum because the strategies that are included in instruction must be valid for the types of activities students work in classroom. The most important point to remember about teaching learning strategies is to use methods. Here are methods which has to used by teacher for interesting class in learning. First, the teacher must covering all materials which is going to explained. And the second is using instrument enough, so that teacher can describe the subject by showing tools or practicing instruments in the classroom to the students clearly and easily. Third is method how to manage class learning. Methods in here are various, based on teachers self. If we tell about methods, its not far from English skill that had to covered by students. These English skill are Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. In each English skill learning has its method. Listening and Speaking are more important than other skills, reading and Writing. You know why? Because speaking is the main goal in teaching English is speaking oral fluently as communication and interaction with others people, especially an English language as International language. Speaking activity here can not lose the Listening, of course. It has great effect. If we want to speak, we also must be able to say in right pronunciation, beside grammar, fluency, and comprehensibility. When ask to conversational practices, native speakers pronouncement are often at odds with what speakers actually do. Much of how everyday conversation works is so familiar that people studying and testing language often overlook fundamental characteristics of conversation. Listening has great influence to show up how the words can used correctly. In fact, that we can imitate or repeat something of speaking after we listen hear voice of pronunciation in oral communications or not. Usually, it can be habitual of speaking from listening times to times. Because oral communication involves the negotiation of meaning between two or more persons, it is always related to the context in which it occurs. Speaking means negotiating intended meanings and adjusting ones speech to produce effect on the listener.

Another skills are Reading and Writing. The activity of Reading and Writing are also important in teaching English. In this lesson, the student have to practice in the written forms of English. It is used for developing writing activity, such as to combine sentences into paragraphs, then paragraph into short compositions. This ability to examine their own writing critically will not only help them in improving writing skills, but should also greatly improve the students reading comprehension. It is why Reading and Writing is also important in English learning. However the most students of English can speak English fluently, but they are not really able to write it well without systematic training. In Teaching Learning Process, the teachers beside use strategies for learning, they also should have ability skills to build an interesting classroom. Teachers must have four competences as a good teacher and must be creative for managing classroom. First is the ability of pedagogic competence. It means that teacher must be able to carry out or managing classroom to make an interesting class so that it is not based for students when they are studying. Second is social competence, it means that making a good relation to others is important. In every activity we always meet others people and we must doing interactions with them. So that we must keeping relation. Third is self behavior, the teacher must have a good behavior, because it gives example of attitude for their students. And the last competence of teacher is professional. It means that the teacher must be able to carry out class in all situations, so that classroom more really life in each activities of Teaching learning Process. Therefore, being a good and successful teacher should have and do the do the strategies, and also must have competence skills of teachers. So that it can improve and result students ability to use English Language in spoken and written. The most successful teachers share some common characteristics. Here are the top six keys to being a successful teacher. 1. Sense of Humor A sense of humor can help you become a successful teacher, your sense of humor can relieve tense classroom situations before they become

disruptions. A sense of humor can also make class more enjoyable for your students look forward to attending and paying attention. Most importantly, a sense of humor will allow you to make you a happier persons. 2. A positive Attitude A positive attitude will help you cope with these in the best way. This would not be ideal situation, but a teacher with a right without negatively impacting the students. 3. high Expectations An effective teacher mush have high expectations. However, your expectations will be one of the key factors in helping students learn and achieve. 4. Consistency In order to create a positive learning and environment your students should know what to expect from you each day. You need to be consistent. This will create a safe learning environment for the student and they will be more likely to succeed. However, they will dislike an environment in which the rules are constantly changing. 5. Fairness Many people confuse fairness and consistency. A consistency teacher is the same person from day to day. A fair teacher treats students equally in the same situation. For example, student complain of unfairness when teacher treat one gender or group of student differently. It would be terribly unfair to go easier on the football players in a class than on the cheerleaders. Student pick up on this so quickly, so be careful of being labeled unfair. 6. Flexibility Flexibility Attitude is important not only for your stress level but also for your students who expect you to be in charge and take control of any situation.

In Learning Teaching Process, some instruments is also needed for clearing the subject that being learned. We have noted that visual aids are available in many form. We have considered several that require little or no time or expense to prepare. Here will show additional ways to prepare and use various kinds of aids to encourage subject learning. Some instruments here, such as : the LCD. Using LCD make its learning more interesting and clearer, for example, we have a PowerPoint. By using PowerPoint as media hopefully will develop students understanding in Learning Teaching Process. For example, using subject learning in PowerPoint that is showed by slide to slide. From this way, student will more understand clearly and it makes interesting in learning. Another instrument are loudspeaker and subject learning enough. Loudspeaker are the most variable elements in a modern audio system and usually responsible for most audible differences when comparing systems. It use for spread the sound surround the classroom when presentation. It is also can used for teacher that has low of volume when he or she teaching in classroom. And subject learning here come from many sources. It can from books or handout of the teachers or it is can also from books that have sources for learning we are going to buy. Internet which have many information we want to learned by browsing and download. Beside the instruments of learning, there are some motivations for students needed. Of course, not all students are motivated by the some values, needs, desires, or wants. Some of the students will be motivated by the approval of others, some by overcoming challenges. There are some ideas for motivating students, like : Explain, It means some research show that students do poorly assignment or participation because they do not understand what to do or why they should do it. Teacher should spend more time explaining exactly what is expected on assignment or activities. Reward, students who do not have powerful intrinsic motivation to learn can be helped by extrinsic motivations in the form of rewards. Everyone likes the feeling of recognitions, reward for good work procedure those good feelings.

Care, students respond with interest and motivation to teachers who appear to be human and caring. It is also a good idea to approach personally, show that you care about your students by asking about their concerns and goals. What do they plan to do in the future? What things do they like ? and etc. Have students participate, it means that students love to be needed. By choosing several students to help the teacher ( take roll, grade objective exams, etc.). Teach inductively, it means that by beginning with the example, evidences, stories, and so forth and arriving at conclusions later, you can maintain interest and increase motivation, as well as teach the skills of analysis. And the last, satisfy students needs, many students have a need to have fun in activity ways, in other words, they need to be noisy and excited. Make learning visual, it can using drawings, diagrams, pictures, charts, graphs, even three dimensional object you can bring to class to help students anchor the idea to an image. Beside that above, the teachers also are able to have managing teaching and learning. Teacher should consider how close they want to be to the students they are working with. Some students resent it if the distance between them and the teacher is to small. Teachers should be conscious of their proximity, and in assessing their students reactions to what is happening in the classroom, they should take this into account. And than about their movement, most successful teachers move around the classroom to some extend. How much a teacher moves around in the classroom, Beside the instruments of learning, there are some motivations for students needed. Of course, not all students are motivated by the some values, needs, desires, or wants. Some of the students will be motivated by the approval of others, some by overcoming challenges. There are some ideas for motivating students, like : than will depend on his or her personal style, where he or she feels most comfortable for the management of the classroom. In order to manage a class successfully, the teacher has to be aware of what students are doing and, where

possible, how they are feeling. This means watching and listening just as carefully as teaching. Perhaps the teachers most important instrument is the voice. How we speak and what our voice sounds like have a crucial impact on classes. When considering the use of the voice in the management of teaching there are three issues to think about, such as : Audibility, clearly, teachers need to be audible, Variety, its important for teachers to vary the quality of their voice and the volume, depending on the type of lesson and the type of activity, and conservation, just like opera singers, teachers have to take great care of their voice. The teachers can how to handle a classroom in many ways, such as : discussing problem, building a relationship, and be fair to your students. If you have concerns about the teachers style or performance, talk to him or her first. If you concerns are not resolved to your satisfaction, your next stop should be the teachers supervisor. Building relationship is important to form a good relationship with your childs preschool teacher, for both you and your child. Approach the teacher with an open mind and clear, direct questions, so that you can be a part of your childs preschool experience and take pride in your little ones achievements. And the last are some ways to help teacher respect of the students, there are be consistent in application of discipline and just in your requirements and assignments, dont refuse to let a student tell you his or her side of situation, etc. Although, the character and personality of the teacher are crucial issue in the classroom. The way that teachers talk to students, the manner in which they interact with them, is one of the crucial teacher skills, but it does not demand technical expertise. It does however require teachers to empathize with the people they are talking to. When teachers give instructions, it is important for them to check that the students have understood what they are being asked to do. This can be achieved either by asking student to explain the activity after the teacher has given the instruction or by getting someone to show the other people in the class how

the exercise works. Where students all share the some mother tongue which the teacher also understands, a member of the class can be asked to translate the instructions as a check that they have understood them. Maintaining good order in classrooms is one of the most difficult tasks facing young inexperienced teachers. The task has become more difficult over the past few decades as young peoples attitude to people in authority have change dramatically. Some of the changes have led to greater self confidence in students. Others, such abuse and an increasing lack of respect for authority. Classroom management and life in school generally are more difficult, and more demanding, on those who are charged with maintaining a positive learning environment. Many disruptive behaviors in the classroom can be alleviated before they become serious discipline problems. Such behaviors can be reduced by the teachers ability to employ effective organizational practices. Such practices are at the heart of the teaching process and are essential to establishing and maintaining classroom control. The following set of organizational practice should help to establish effective controls of the classroom by the teacher: get off to a good start ( the first honeymoon encounter between the teacher and the students when they formulate their impressions of the teacher ), learning school policies ( prior to meeting the class for the first time, the teacher should become familiar with school policies concerning acceptable student behavior and disciplinary procedures ), established rules ( established a set of classroom rules to guide the behavior of students of at once ), over planning lesson ( over-plan the lessons for the first week or two is important for the teacher to impress on the student from the outset that he or she is organized and confident of their ability to get through the syllabus ), learning names ( calling a students by his or she name early in the year gives the student an increased sense of well being ), be firm and consistent ( a teacher can be firm yet still be supportive and friendly with students ). I can conclude that being good and successful teachers need strategies. The first thing is teacher must have characteristics in her or him self such as sense of humor, appositive attitude, high expectations, consistency, fairness, and

flexibility. Although, character and personality of the teacher is important in the classroom. It is about the relationship between the teacher and the students. Because successful teachers are those people who can identify with the hopes, aspirations and difficulties of their students while they are teaching them.
