Isaiah 63:14-19 New International Version (NIV) 14 like cattle that go down to the plain, they were given rest by the Spirit of the Lord. This is how you guided your people to make for yourself a glorious name. 15 Look down from heaven and see, from your lofty throne, holy and glorious. Where are your zeal and your might? Your tenderness and compassion are withheld from us. 16 But you are our Father, though Abraham does not know us or Israel acknowledge us; you, Lord, are our Father, our Redeemer from of old is your name. 17 Why, Lord, do you make us wander from your ways and harden our hearts so we do not revere you? Return for the sake of your servants, the tribes that are your inheritance. 18 For a little while your people possessed your holy place, but now our enemies have trampled down your sanctuary. 19 We are yours from of old; but you have not ruled over them, they have not been called[a] by your name. Footnotes: [a.] Isaiah 63:19 Or, We are like those you have never ruled, / like those never called

Welcome to Worship
elcome to New Hope Church, now into our third century serving God! If you are visiting, you will discover a loving, spirit-filled church family. Here is some helpful information as you join us in worship today: All who worship here are equals in the sight of God, regardless of race, age, gender, physical disability or religious affiliation. Communion, when celebrated, is open to all who profess Christ as Lord and Savior, whether affiliated with this church or not. Children may partake of Communion as well, if parents approve. A nursery is available during the service; please see a greeter for directions. (This is for infants and children up to 3 years of age.) Handicap-accessible restrooms are located off the narthex (main foyer) and adjacent to the entrance lobby in the Fellowship Hall/Gym. Please complete the tear-off attendance slip attached to the bulletin and drop it in the offering plate so we will have a record of your visit with us today. Thank you for remembering to silence your cell phone during the service. We ask that there be no food or beverages in the sanctuary, please. If you arrived as a visitor we hope that you leave as a friend and worship with us often! New Hope Church exists to: Glorify God in worship and rejoice in our life together; Share the Good News of the Gospel in word and deed; Reach as many as we can with the saving love of Jesus; Help each person grow toward Christian maturity, and find their place of service in the church and in the world.

Help Center for a couple of hours on a date to be announced. Please contact Mary Thompson if you would like to volunteer at the Help Center. New Hope invites the men of the church and the surrounding community to a weekly Prayer Breakfast each Tuesday morning at 6:00 a.m. A devotional is shared over breakfast, and a time of prayer follows before the busy workday begins. In a casual atmosphere men may discuss concerns that stay within the group. A bond between friends develops. This is a meaningful time of fellowship for the men who attend. Visitors are always welcome. Come join us! New Hope Choir Led by Ben, the New Hope choir is more than just a choir. It is a small group that meets on Sunday mornings to fellowship, express concerns, reflect on a devotional together and pray for one another. Those in the choir are blessed to be in it together. Join the choir and find out why! They meet every Sunday after the Worship Service at 11:20. Stephen Ministry - Got a burden? You dont have to carry that burden alone. You can have a STEPHEN MINISTER who will spend time with you, listen to you, and walk beside you. If you or someone you know is interested in receiving care through the Stephen Ministry program at New Hope, please contact the pastor through the Church office at (615) 449-7020 and request that a Stephen minister contact you.

Thought for the Week

ondon businessman Lindsay Clegg told the story of a warehouse property he was selling. The building had been empty for months and needed repairs. Vandals had damaged the doors, smashed the windows, and strewn trash around the interior. As he showed a prospective buyer the property, Clegg took pains to say that he would replace the broken windows, bring in a crew to correct any structural damage, and clean out the garbage. "Forget about the repairs," the buyer said. "When I buy this place, I'm going to build something completely different. I don't want the building; I want the site." Compared with the renovation God has in mind, our efforts to improve our own lives are as trivial as sweeping a warehouse slated for the wrecking ball. When we become God's, the old life is over (2 Cor. 5:17). He makes all things new. All he wants is the site and the permission to build. - Ian L. Wilson.

Ministries/Activities Within Our Church

After church today New Hope-New Vision Luncheon. Great food and fellowship following the morning worship service. Enjoy a potato bar, salad bar and barbeque menu. Kids will have a special place to sit together and will have pizza on their menu. (Preschoolers will be provided with a fun packet of things to do for their entertainment). New Hope/New Vision is the theme for this celebration. A large number of our congregation will be presenting several areas that reflect changes in the months ahead for New Hope. Ms. Diane Dawson, a well known and respected leader in music for kids. is coming as our special guest. She will be working with kids in grades 1-6 during the program. Ms. Dawson has written music curriculum and is energetic and positive. Most importantly she is a Godly woman with a heart for kids. Our kids are in for a real treat. At the end of the program, they will show what they have learned and lead us in praise. You really will not want to miss this opportunity. God is leading New Hope to involve all ages in leading in worship, which will help us grow toward a deeper relationship with our Lord and each other. The New Hope CPW is scheduled to work at the Wilson County Community
