Future Level 2 Award in Equality and Diversity (QCF)

Duration: At your own pace (normally 1 to 3 weeks part-time home study) OVERVIEW Equality and Diversity are important concepts for any organisation. Not only has the Equality Act 2010 extended the scope of equality and diversity, but inspection, review, accreditation and awarding bodies have increased their scrutiny of education and training organisations, requiring them to develop and implement equality and diversity related policies and procedures. In the public sector, the standard is higher than the private sector, with inspection bodies looking at the impact of equality and diversity policies and procedures. The Level 2 Award in Equality and Diversity provides a useful introduction to this area and can be studied by itself or in combination with other programmes. For instance, it can be studied alongside one of the teaching qualifications, such as PTLLS. It will complement two of the programme units. For those intending to deliver training, teaching, lectures or presentations, this qualification is a useful addition and should raise awareness about inclusivity and enhance such delivery. If you are seeking employment or promotion, the programme demonstrates your awareness of equality and diversity issues, which should be viewed positively by most employers, especially those in the public sector, for whom the equality and diversity standards are higher than the private sector.
