CCA

COPPER CLAD ALUMINUM WIRE

Description:
Copper Clad Aluminum (CCA) wire is a bimetallic wire with a copper cladding concentrically covering an
aluminum core, which combines the optimum properties of both metals in a single composite material ideally
suited for most electrical conductor applications. The processing method of CCA wire is similar to that of
copper wire during cable manufacture.

Standard: ASTM B566-93

Certification: ISO9001, SGS, RoHS
Production ability: 30MT/month
Packing: carton, pallet, box, coil
Min diameter of wire is 0.10mm, up to 6.0mm.

Properties:
Compared with copper wire, CCA wire has many advantages: Light weight, easy to transport and process,
reduction of copper consumption, low cost.

Application:
Inner conductor of CATV coaxial cables and large capacity communication networks signal transmission
cables instead of copper wire.

Common physical property of CCA wire

Remark: We also supplier High-strength Copper Clad Aluminum wire (HCCA). HCCA has good conductivity
of copper, light and high strength of aluminum-magnesium alloy, and it is the best material for weaving cable
shieding net, aviation instrument coil, sound coil, special magnet wire and electronic component, etc.

Main Application:

Properties:

Be used as bare conductors usually used in

overhead lines.
High voltage busbars at the substation.
Be used as conductors to be covered with
insulation and coverings for medium and low
voltage lines.

Simple construction, convenient installation and

maintenance, large transmission capacity.
Comparing with copper, aluminum conductors
have a great economical advantage on the low
voltage overhead lines with bare conductors
and insulated cables.
Widely be used in different voltage transmission
line.

ALL ALUMINUM ALLOY CONDUCTOR

6201 Aluminum Alloy Wires

Description:
This bare concentric-lay-stranded conductor,
made from round aluminum alloy wires, is
constructed with a central core surrounded by one
or more layers of helically laid wires.
The basic composition of this alloy is
Aluminum-Magnesium-Silicon group, which is
also known in Europe as Almelec or Aldrey.

Standards:
The hard drawn aluminum wire: IEC 60104:1987.
The AAC standard specification:
ASTM B399, BS3242, DIN48201, IEC1089,
GB9329-88.

Properties:
Much higher strength, light weight and small arc
sag, which can increase span between steel
towers or reduce towers height, and decrease
appropriation of land and save construction and
installation cost.
Good creep-resistance.
Good Corrosion-resistant and long operational
life.
Alloy surface is hard with good extrusion
resistance, which can decrease corona loss and
reduce transmission line interfere to radio wave.

Application:
Be used for increasing capacity of old line.
It has solo advantage in ultra high voltage
transmission line under severe mechanical
conditions such as long distance, big span and
storm area.
Can be widely used in LV, MV and HV line.

ALUMINUM CONDUCTOR STEEL REINFORCED

Aluminum wires

Galvanized steel wires

Description:
The conductor is formed by several external layers
of aluminum wires and galvanized steel wires as the
core. The Diameter of steel and aluminum wires can
be alike or different.
Galvanized steel core is normally 1,7,19 or 37 wires,
surrounded by concentric layers of aluminum wires.
The ratio of aluminum and steel wire can be
produced according to tensile strength and current
carrying capacity, etc.

Properties:

Application:

Low weight, combined with high breaking

strength, which makes it possible to have large
span runs without reverting to excessive
mechanical stresses or to heavy metallic
towers.
Electric losses by the corona effect are greatly
reduced due to greater diameter of the
conductor.

Used as bare overhead transmission and as primary

and secondary distribution cable. ACSR offers
optimal strength for line design. Variable steel core
stranding enables desired strength to be achieved
without sacrificing ampacity.
