Responses Lov e Happiness I lov e them so much, they complete my lif e and are members of my f amily . Lov e, af f ection, protectiv eness Absolute lov e (and occasional desire to murder them... just kidding). LOVE THEM TO PIECES :) lov e, af f ection, occasional annoy ance He is my best and most loy al f riend. I lov e him more than most people and he's a part of our f amily . Lov e Lov e Lov e the little bastard! Ev en when he is being retarded! Lov e, happy ness, occasionally anger, warmth, trust, f riendliness, trust. Af f ection, loy alty , lov e, comf ort, peace, joy , paternal-ness I lov e that damn dog Primarily the squishy -snuggle kind. I lov e my dog. I would hate to see any thing unpleasant happen to him. I f eel a v ery strong connection to him. I lov e him like a little brother. Who sleeps in my bed. I completely adore him. Af f ection, care, like a member of the f amily . Af f ection, curiosity I lov e my dog more than any thing I lov e and care f or them like f amily . Lov e, exasperation Af f ection, lov e, occasional f rustration They are my big babies, as well as my best f riends and protectors. They bring happiness and peacef ulness to my lif e that does not exist without dogs. I nev er f eel lonely when they are with me. Lov ing, caring, and just like a f amily member. Lov e lov e lov e They are part of my f amily . I call them my f ur children and I'm their mom! Lov e, af f ection, patience, happiness I lov e him! Happy Lov e, companionship Lov e, compassion, admiration, guilt, companionship, gratitude I lov e him i lov e him! he's a rescue and the dif f erence between when i brought him home and how he is now is immense and satisf y ing. The Pit Bull, Bandit, is the craf tiest dog I'v e ev er met. He's so sly and clev er. He's my best f riend. I lov e that dog more than I'v e ev er lov ed any human. The Chihuahua, Rocky , showed up on my doorstep one day , so I decided to take him in. He bothers Bandit a lot, since there's a big age, personality , and size dif f erence between the two, but they get along well enough. Rocky 's pretty annoy ing, but I do lov e the little bastard. I lov e her, I like to play with her, she is my companion, I f eel responsible f or her. Lov e, joy , happiness We hav e a lov ing parent-child relationship. I lov e him, like him, want to please him, want to help him hav e a great lif e, want to prov ide f or him, protect him, etc. With one, I hav e an EXTREMELY close bond. I'd do any thing f or her. With the other, I lov e him v ery much but I'm not as close as with my other dog. Perhaps because I hav e only had him f or a y ear. lov e, af f ection, happy they are my lif e! I pretty much treat him like my 3rd child. I lov e him more than any thing It's as if I birthed them. It's as if I birthed them. Lov e, f rustration, anger, can't think of more but there must be more She's a sweetheart. Almost,. like a child? I don't know. I play with her and train her 'n shit. She's like a kid, really . Lov e them but they can be slightly annoy ing at times I lov e them, they make me smile, f eel happy , content, etc. One of them has behav ioral issues and sometimes I f eel resentf ul of him f or not being "normal" but I also f eel v ery proud of how f ar he has come. Lov e, anger, sadness, happiness He's so ugly he's adorable and is a master emotional manipulator. He could get sy mpathy f rom a stone wall. I'd be impressed if I wasn't so jealous. He's the best dog ev er. Unconditional lov e He is like a child to me. Lov e, af f ection, maternal, responsibility They are my children, I would sacrif ice my self or any body else in order to protect them. I lov e them dearly . I lov e my dogs. They are members of my f amily . pure, pure lov e. Lov e em I LOVE my dogs with ev ery f iber of my being. Friendly . I f eel like he's an integral part of my f amily . I lov e him and will miss him terribly when he dies. ALL of them! Lov e, happiness, f rustration, empathy Lov e, f riendship, loy alty , joy , companionship

Responses Accommodations did not allow pets Most places we hav e wanted to go are not dog f riendly . For example, going to the beach in the summer... dogs are not allowed on the beach or boardwalk and most hotels do not allow them. It would be stressf ul to the dogs to take them and leav e them in the hotel while we go out... so instead we just nev er go any where. There aren't many dog f riendly v acation spots in my area. Also my dogs aren't particularly f riendly toward strangers. Her sheer size and the f act that she wasn't y et quite house-trained and we were in a borrowed car. The collie/shepherd is slightly dog aggressiv e when meeting new dogs and I f eel like when I am camping or on v acation other people let their dogs of f leash in areas where dogs are meant to be on leash. I nev er know if a random dog will come running up to our campsite and startle her. Also taking a dog on a plane can be expensiv e and stressf ul f or them. He has a temper towards other dogs. Mingling with other dogs while he was y ounger may hav e helped to prev ent this. Stay ing in a place that didn't allow dogs or stay ing at a f riend's house and knowing we'll be out of the house f or long periods of time and not being able to exercise her properly . He can't really be lef t alone f or a long time especially in new env ironments, he cant be taken to some places we would want to go. Nothing can really f ix this unless he had a baby sitter. i hav e to keep my two dogs separated and that has prov en dif f icult to do outside of my home because they are both large. accomodations No hotels allowed them. Hotels that allow large dogs are f ew and the ones that do are either shady or way way expensiv e. No accommodation av ailable where I would not hav e to try and sneak 40kg of f luf f into the room. Didn't want to spend the extra money , hotel was not pet f riendly , didn't want to driv e in the car with her f or 20 hours Will not put my dog on a plane. My own airplane might help. Extra f ee to f ly dog with me, care f or dog when I went to places that were not dog f riendly Flight to another country , couldn't be prev ented. Hotel expense associated with pet allowance. Not enough room in the car. Limited f reedom since I'd hav e to come back to check on the dogs in the hotel. Ov erseas holiday s Couldn't f ind a hotel (or place to stay ) that allowed dogs. No hotels took pets Hav ing enough activ ities that are engaging and av ailable f or both of us. Ease of trav el. We would hav e to be able to driv e to our location instead of f ly ing since f ly ing is such an issue. I don't want our dogs locked in the cargo hold. Also, I worry about our destination and leav ing them alone in a hotel while we are out without them. I did not want them to get hurt and its unsaf e to take them out of the house. Work wasnt f lexible, I ended up cancelling the trip. I wanted to take her to the Grand Cany on with us, but she would not breathe well at high elev ations. She can't ev en breathe well at sea lev el. The v acation house we rented had a no pets policy and we could not f ind another one that allowed us to bring her. We f eel that the stress of air trav el is not worth it f or the two weekend v acations that we hav e planned. He's also y oung and will likely not be able to hold it that long, so he'll hav e to sit in his own mess. :( Inconv enience. Activ e holiday s (pug can't hike 20km). Not allowed in hotel. Pug can't sleep in a tent when camping. Etc. Also, no car, so no way to bring all the f ood except f or f ully stuf f ing suitcases/bags with it. She wouldn't do well with long trips, bringing a pet is a hassle. Lack of pet-f riendly hotels Lack of dog-f riendly accommodations, high-energy dog that wouldn't be suitable f or a relaxing v acation. Lots of people, determining how to accommodate things to do with the dog. Pet f riendly hotels usually hav e a weight limit of 25lbs. My dog is well ov er 50 lbs, making hotels pretty much impossible. Y ou can't do non-dog-f riendly things with y our dog around, and y ou can't leav e a dog alone in a hotel room (mostly ). Also, my dog is naughty , so there's that. My Bulldog is crazy , he prev ented himself f rom going with us. He would be too much to handle in a strange place. Plus most hotels don't allow pets. We were stay ing in a beachside condo that a) did not allow dogs, and b) would hav e been too small of a liv ing space to bring the dog any way . Not many dog f riendly hotels, airplane trav el would be too stressf ul with them Dif f iculty f inding a place to stay with the dog. Uncertainty about how dog/pit bull f riendly the area is. Y ou can't bring a dog on a cruise. The v acation home our f riends rented didn't allow dogs inside and we didn't want her to hav e to sleep outside. Also plane rides and hotels. Vacation with f amily members, could not choose own hotel. Hotel did not allow dogs. Money constraints also an issue. Other people did not want a dog in their house. Car trips - our dog gets v ery sick when he's in the car f or longer than 10 minutes, so driv ing him any where is out of the question :( Working on recall, so not 100 on bringing him hiking, and his occasional issues with barking when f irst put in his crate (waiting to sort that out bef ore hotel stay s) Planes, long car rides, hotels, don't want him bored if we're doing something he cant Lack of accommodation, too expensiv e f or my budget. Hard to transport f or long distance trips Unsure of f acilities/suitability of destination f or dogs Not enough room in the car/place we stay ed at. And my dog gets car sick sometimes. My dog gets v ery excited around new people and I know some people don't respond well to that, or to dogs in general. High cost of plane trav el with a bigger dog. I def initely wouldn't want to put her on a plane in the cargo area and she's not well behav ed enough to trav el in the cabin (I'm not ev en sure what the rules are f or that). Lack of dog f riendly hotels/ lack of dog day care f acilities at the v acation spot Needing to f ind a hotel/housing that allows dogs (or if stay ing with f amily , not wanting to "put them out" by bringing a dog), not hav ing a place to walk dog, not knowing where emergency v et hospitals are Lack of dog-f riendly public spaces in the hotel v icinity , f ew hotels willing to accept dogs ov er a certain size. She's too nerv ous Dogs not welcome in the hotel or the tourist amenities around Mainly because it is hotter than 400 hells in SC and they .would be baked aliv e while we pumped gas Well, until recently my dogs weren't the kind of dogs that would do well on a trip. The newest one does enjoy cars though. He's a little nerv ous and I would f eel bad if his barking disturbed other people on a plane. Also since a lot of places might not be dog f riendly I would be concerned about leav ing him in an unf amiliar hotel room.

Responses Was restricted f rom doing certain things that were not dog f riendly . Can't go into most restaurants with dogs. Some places just aren't animal-f riendly . The hotel was f ull of misbehav ing dogs and the grounds were cov ered with dog poop. It was v ery f rustrating to try and nav igate all these pitf alls. Better groundskeeping would solv e the poop problem. The other dogs could be asked to leav e by management if they had a behav ior code in place at the hotel. Well, the most prev alent problem is when y ou park in f ront of a store, run in to grab some water f or y ourself (or y our dog) and come back to y our car to f ind a note (or sharpie) on y our car f rom some white knight angry at y ou f or leav ing y our dog in the car f or like, ten minutes. I couldn't alway s take my dogs ev ery where I wanted to go. I usually like camping, and while I could f ind pet f riendly sites, not all the local trails were ok f or dogs. The main issue was unexpected dog-unf riendliness. For example, hotels that stated they permitted dogs, but then had a bad attitude about the dog being there, or all kinds of crazy policies (f or example: dog can't go to the bathroom any where on hotel property , y ou hav e to walk a block away and somehow prev ent them f rom going to the bathroom till af ter that). Where to leav e the dog during meal times and where to let the dog out to reliev e itself . We took a f amily v acation ov er 10 y ears ago with my dog so a lot of hotels were not dog accommodating/dog f riendly like they are today . Not ev en remotely close to enough places we could all be together. She also cried all night our f irst night at the hotel because she was conf used as to why we were someplace new (although got ov er it by the second night) Hiking trails or tours were not dog f riendly Scared of sounds, getting into stuf f he shouldn't, f ield mouse stole his f ood. Dogs weren't alway s allowed where I wanted to go and I wasn't aware of other places I could take them The times I had to go out, my dog would bark. We were in the "pet f riendly " section of the hotel, but we still had noise complaints. pet f riendly hotels are non existent, hiking trails were designated no dogs Some of the locations were not pet f riendly , so I had to skip that part of the trip and do something else. Going out to dinner so hav e to leav e dog home. Dog is raw f ed and no easy f ood av ailable locally Being in areas where I could not hav e them, or keep them comf ortable. Restaurants with decks that DO NOT allow dogs. Hotels that allow dogs, but do not allow owners to leav e the pets in the room. Specif y the lev el of dog-f riendly ness of the accomodation. There is , I will allow a dog in there but not on f urniture, not without y ou present and then there are places that giv e y ou doggietreats when y ou get there and doggie towels. Just say ing both the accomodations are pet-f riendly is not helpf ul. When trav eling to and f rom our v acation location it was dif f icult to f ind a place to eat with our dog. We ended up leav ing her in the car while we went in to dine. Luckily the weather was nice or we would hav e been stuck with driv e thru f ood. a lot of places aren't dog f riendly My dog is a rescue and is v ery timid/reactiv e around new people, so we were limited in terms of what we could do with him without causing him major anxiety . Many restaurants will not allow dogs period, ev en when outside seating was av ailable. I don't think I could prev ent indiv idual store/restaurant policy but could hav e researched better and would'v e lef t dog home One had an allergic reaction to an insect bite, leav ing me to explain the situation to a French v et - I am not f luent in French! Try ing to f ind restaurants that allow dogs is pretty dif f icult, and so is f inding a hotel that allows them f or a reasonable f ee. Ev en the chains that allow dogs nationally don't alway s allow them locally if the particular hotel is a f ranchise. Dog f riendly places to eat in restaurants. Need more of these! Would not stay out in town as long as we would had we not had our dog. A lot of activ ities that I wanted to do, ex: site-seeing, hangout in local locations and such, dogs were not allowed. Being in a new place, I only knew I could bring my dogs to the park. If I knew of a place that I was allowed to bring my animals, I would hav e def initely brought them out f or most of my v acation. Had to leav e Hamlet behind more of ten than I would hav e liked, due to places not being dog-f riendly . A pub that allowed dogs into the bar area, but not children. More specif ic inf o. Had to miss out on c couple things, as couldn't leav e dog in hot car. Did end up putting her in dog camp f or a couple af ternoons so we could do stuf f . Luckily we brought all her v accination records just in case. Vacationing in the summer it was dif f icult to take the dogs with us during the day as, if we stopped to take lunch at a caf e we would hav e to leav e them in the car, which ev en with the windows open, I was not comf ortable with. More dog f riendly dining locations would be helpf ul. Hotels were not up f ront about accommodating dogs. Or would giv e us incorrect rooms ev en af ter knowing we had dogs and we had signed the waiv er f or dogs. (Y es this really did happen). It seemed until they phy sically SAW the dogs that hotels didn't really realize we had dogs. Hard to f ind hotels/hostels/other accommodations sometimes, occasionally dif f icult to f ind areas to easily walk and/or exercise with my dogs Location did not allow dogs during date/times of v acation. Updated and more specif ic inf ormation would hav e been v ery usef ull It's more challenging to f ind dog f riendly restaurants and hav ing them with hinders the ability to go into a lot of places. Not many places are dog f riendly . National Parks hav e v ery limited spaces where dogs are allowed. Limited pet-f riendly areas, such as parks and beaches Unable to go inside restaurants, park had just put up a sign that said "No dogs allowed" ev en though it had allowed dogs last time I went. Restaurants would not allow them on patios. Lack of places to walk f or potty breaks. Dog got carsicked :( Breed restrictions (pit bull). No place to eat with y our dog. I couldn't leav e my dog in an appropriate area when I lef t, he ended up breaking the screen window and jumping out Eating at restaurants was quite dif f icult. Some places don't allow dogs in their outdoor seating. Very f ew places to allow f or doggy cool-down, minimal shade Hotels that claim to be dog f riendly but don't allow dogs in the restaurant. If its too hot I can't leav e the dogs in the car, not allowed to leav e them in the hotel room alone. Got a call f rom the hotel that our dog was being too loud! We went hiking with our dog, but as it was her f irst hike, we had to carry her part of the way . Better conditioning our dog would hav e helped. It's hard to go into most stores or eat f rom many restaurants without leav ing y our pet behind. More of an inconv enience than a problem - I had to limit my trav el, could not leav e the car unattended to go into public buildings f or more than a f ew minutes. Couldn't hav e her at a restaurant Most hotels won't allow dogs alone in rooms ev en if I bring his crate. Would be nice to know in adv ance. Or, if hotel could hav e local contact inf o f or dog sitters. Can't bring them ev ery where. Really , just how hy per the puppy was, especially because we were driv ing. Some sort of guide on how the hell to driv e 10 hours with a puppy would hav e been awesome. Was told by employ ee dog was welcome in the store and when I entered the store a manager barred me f rom entering. There is a lot of conf licting inf ormation as to whether dogs are allowed in stores or not. Some websites say it's f ine f or this particular trait other say no. We were on a camping trip, and while the camp-site itself was f riendly , I don't think all of the nearby beaches were dog f riendly . It would hav e been really nice to bring them along to all of them!

If yes, please describe I'd like to be able to f ly with him on my lap. We only driv e with him now. Top tip book f or holiday ing with pets. If dogs could go to restaurants and shops. More dog f riendly places! ;D Would like a map of dog-f riendly camping sites and hiking trails, may be color coded by what kind of rules there are (leashes needed or not, what other kind of animals are on the trails, horses, etc). Sites or books with up-to-date and breed-specif ic inf o. For example: many hotels will allow small dogs, but won't allow large dogs, or ban certain breeds. Many dogs can comf ortably and saf ely f ly , but brachy cephalic dogs generally can't, and dif f erent airlines all hav e dif f erent rules about them. Again, did not use resources. Just drov e to the beach, rented a room - no planning ahead. Nada.
