Subject 1: Capital Punishment Definition: Capital punishment is the practice of executing someone as punishment for a specific crime after a proper legal trial. (BBC, n.d.) Subject 2: Gender Discrimination Definition: As defined by the ILO, any distinction, exclusion or preference made on the basis of sex which has the effect of nullifying or impairing equality of opportunity and treatment in employment or occupation is discriminatory (Busse & Spielmann, 2003) Subject 3: Scientific Advancements Definition: Scientific discoveries made every day that change the world we live in. Technological and medical advancements that bring a myriad of new techniques that will only grow and improve with time to make the world a better place to live in. (Hoebee, 2013)

The government may turn to different forms of annihilating convicted criminals since lethal injection is very costly. 2. Since the Philippines is a Catholic country, it is prohibited by the CBCP to allow same-sex marriage. (Cruz, 2013) 2. Homosexuals have the right to marry. 3.
