Sunday: Christmas holidays. Its winter and its very cold. I have an uncle who lives in South America and he goes to the beach at Christmas and has ice creams instead of turrn. Ive been helping mum to decorate the Christmas tree. I had to stand on a ladder to put the angel on the top of the tree. In Spain Los Reyes Magos come on January 6th to give us the presents we asked for in the letter we sent to them. We get up very early to see them. Nowadays, many children also wait for Pap Noel or Santa Claus who comes at midnight on the 25th of December. After dinner, the kids go to bed and behave very well to make Santa and Los Reyes Magos happy. I always remember to leave my shoes outside the window to let Los Reyes Magos know who I am and make sure they dont pass by without leaving the presents before setting off for the Orient on their camels. An English friend of mine says that he leaves his socks hung over the fireplace for Santa to recognize him. On New Years Eve, Spanish people eat grapes, one for each strike of the clock and a few minutes past midnight we toast each other with Champagne, although I have orange juice because alcoholic drinks are for adults.
