Football Game - 9/27/13 Homecoming Game Pre-Game 6:45 Band Proceeds from West Elementary to the west end zone to prepare for pregame 6:50 After players depart Band takes position on field. 6:55 - School Song is played as players return followed by the National Anthem. Band departs for bleachers. Halftime (As the Band enters) Presidents Andrew Jackson, James Polk, and John Tyler, like many Americans of the time, embraced the notion of enlarging the Empire of Liberty. In other words, they wanted to expand the boarders of America westward. The bands show is based on the famous Horace Greely quote Go West, Young Man, Go West and the follows the story of a girl whose family is making the long journey to the western frontier. 2013 Production Go West! Part I Fanfare for the Common Man and Symphony #3 (The Journey Begins) Part II The Promise of Living (A Peaceful night on the Frontier) Part III The Red Pony (The final push West) {Music by Aaron Copland} ____________________________________________________________________ (As the Band is leaving) The Drum Major for the band is Joe Reineke and the Field Commander is Doug Benieshek. Color Guard Captains are Melisa Wald and Migdalia Simpson. The Director of Bands is Mr. Jeff Dewey. Staff include: Marching and Music Jeff Burdick and Carol Schafer, Drill Randy Webb, Percussion Ben Schulcz, Andrew Fluger, Julie Schenk, John Karolus and Kalei Immel, Color Guard Elizabeth Boyd, Michelle Wald. Color Guard routine Melissa Wald. The Marching Red Robins begin competition this weekend. They will present a Send-Off show tomorrow at 5p.m. here at Schofield Stadium. On Sunday, the band travels to DePere to compete in the West DePere Phantom Marching Invitational.
