8. Draw the variation of shear stress for a Tee section 9. A beam 3m long simply supported at its ends is ranging a poit load W at the centre. If the slope at the ends of the beam should not exceed 1 find the deflection at the centre of the beam 10. What is the relation between maximum shear stress and average shear stress for a circular section

PART B- (5 x 16=80 MARKS) 11. a) A beam of length 6m is simply supported at its ends and carries two point loads of 48kN at a distance of 1m and 3m respectively from the left support. Find i) defection under each load ii) Maximum deflection iii) the point at which the maximum defection occurs

(or) b) A timber of rectangular section of length 8m is simply supported. The beam carries a udl of 12kN/m run over the entire length and a point load of 10kN at 3m from the left support. If the depth is two times the width and the stress on the timber is not to exceed 8N/mm2, find the suitable dimensions of the section.

12.a) i.A simply supported beam of T section of flange 100x30mm and web of 120x20mm has a span of 6m. The overall depth of T section is 150mm. It carries a udl of 2.8k/m over the entire span. Determine the maximum tensile and compressive stress. ii. A rectangular beam of 230mm wide and 300mm depth is subjected to maximum of 105kN-m. Determine the maximum bending stress induced in the beam. (or) b) A 2m long cantilever made of steel tube of section 150mmexternal diameter and 10mm thick loaded as shown. If E=200GN/m2. Calculate the value of W so that the maximum bending stress is 150MN/m2.
