CE 355 REINFORCED CONCRETE DESIGN Instructor: Prof. Damian I. Kachlakev, Ph.D., P.E. Students simplify structures and proportion members while considering ease of construction, economy, and safety. Office Hours: Monday and Wednesday: 11 am to noon or by appointment Text: Reinforced Concrete Design CE 355 (Cal Poly SLO) based on Design of Reinforced Concrete Structures, by Nelson, Darwin & Dolan, Edition 14, 2012 or newer, McGraw Hill Design Code: Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete (318-11), the American Concrete Institute, Farmington Hills, Michigan, 2011 or newer Grading Policy: Course grades will be assigned on the basic of individuals weighted course averages using the following weighting factors and performance level: Homework: 10 %; Two Exams: 30 % each; Design project and lab report: 30%.
