he Juniper tm Collection, our organic cedar line re-launched in 2008 celebrating 20 years in production, is composed of fibers from Juniper Mexicana, or Texas Cedar. Juniper is an aggressive, slow-growing species that is primarily heartwood, from which aromatic oils are extracted to create perfumes and many household supplies. Juniper is also used for fence posts and its ground fibers are used around the world for cement reinforcement in oil and gas drilling. But even with their practical uses, many more acres of Juniper trees have had to be eradicated due to the amount of water they extract from the aquifer. Juniper has caused shortages of water and grazing grasses for wildlife, as well as drinking water for the states growing population. In manufacturing, we use this discarded Juniper which was slated for burning and blend it with recycled polyethylene plastics.

The result is a natural, earth-friendly decking material with the strength, durability and beauty of all MoistureShield materials. And because of Junipers durability and natural resistance to pests and mildew, the Juniper line does not contain mildewcides or insecticides making it a truly organic decking material.

The Juniper Collections featured color is Ash, a light reddish brown cedar that naturally weathers to seacoast gray.
