A Residential size hybrid system powered by wind and solar energy ha been developed for domestic application to supply a small building through net metering. The total capacity of the plant is 5.1kW in which wind is of 3.3kW and solar photovoltaic (PV) is 1.8kW. The main purpose of the system is to develop a knowledge base on residential electric generation from wind and solar energy in Karnataka and surrounding area. The PV-Wind hybrid system returns the lowest unit coast values to maintain the same level of deficiency of power supply probability as compared to standalone solar and wind system.
