OVERVIEW
With ever increasing competition and pressure on costs, Project Managers/ Project Engineers needs to demonstrate that they understand the Project Cost aspects of creating Value for Clients as well as the technical requirements. Correctly defining projects and delivering them within an accurate budget is key for all parties. This one day course has been specifically designed to facilitate ability, knowledge and awareness of the key elements of Cost Estimating and Budgets and Cost Control. It will give you the ability to prepare and control budgets and acquaint you with the tools and manage costs within a projects commercial framework. Set against a background of estimating in the construction industry this will explore the elements of project cost and how budgets are established. Working from first principles, Cost build up will be developed and tested using Case Studies. Contractor tender pricing process, the effects of risk, variation and decision making on project costs will be explored, together with cost control and continuous improvement.
