BE [Mechanical] with 2+ year of experience in IT industry, working as Design Engineer, carrying out
preliminary study of Aircraft structural components (Fuselage, cockpit and wings), solid & surface
modeling of the structural components made of sheet metal & machined parts. Detail design of the
above mentioned components, then generation of part & assembly drawings of the same, with strong
working knowledge of CATIA-V5 & TEAMCENTER.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Working as Design Engineer using CATIA V5 at HCL Technologies Pvt. Ltd. from July 2007 till
December 2008.
• Worked as design Engineer in Essential Engg pvt Ltd, from Feb. 2006 to June 2007.

WORK PROFILE:

 Detail design of fuselage components studying the Numerical Master Geometry (NMG) of
fuselage and preparing 2D layouts of fuselage and components.
 Creating 3D models of Fuselage structures such as Bulkhead, Frames stringers, angles,
brackets, skins etc. depending on the requirements.
 Converting 3D model to suitable 2D view and drafting detail drawing.
 Creating sub-Assembly drawing and Assembly drawing with discussion with assembly group
for easy assembling.
 All the fasteners locations are created in CATIA-V5 3D-assembly file and represented by
means of point in 3D-space, with different color codes & open body features to identify a
particular fastener type.
 The 3D-models & 2D-drawings of the fuselage components are sent to Design Quality for
final release after final approval from Stress analysis, Material check and Weight control
group.
 Any final Drawing corrections as suggested by the Design Quality group are carried out
before the Drawing is released for manufacture.
 Interaction with the manufacturing shop to provide Design support for any Snags &
Production Queries from shop floor and assembly hanger.

PROJECT: C 27J SPARTAN AIRCRAFT

1) Solid Model Design and Detailing of Fuselage Components
• The input used was Numerical Master Geometry of the Aircraft and the reference drawings
• Solid Model Design of Rear Fuselage Frame Assembly. This is one of the core structural
components which forms the structural portion of the rear fuselage of the aircraft
• This Frame is a machined component with several pilot holes and coordinate holes
• Created Detail drawings of Frame Assembly and its components
• Created solid model design and detailing of structural components such as Stiffeners,
Struts, Z Channels using NMG and station planes

2) Modeling of bulk heads and Engine bay door components

• Bulk head is a longitudinal structural member of the Fuselage. The solid model design of the
bulkheads and its assembly components are created based on the Numerical master
geometry (NMG) and stringer planes.
• Drafting involves detailing of the floor with side skin of the aircraft .

3) Solid Model Design & Detailing of Rib & Spar Assembly of Wing
• Spar is the longitudinal structural member of the wing used to connect the wing to fuselage
and also to transfer the wing load to fuselage. Rib is the transverse structural member of the
wing, which gives aerodynamic shape to the wing also used transfer shear load to spar.
• The solid model design and detail drawing are created using the Part Design and Assembly
Design of CATIA V5.

4) Modeling and Detailing of ‘VERTICAL STABILIZER COMPONENTS

• Modeling and Detailing of ‘VERTICAL STABILIZER COMPONENTS’.
• Work involves Detail Design and Drafting of Vertical Stabilizer components (Spars, Ribs, Root
Fittings, Rudder components and Brackets) according to client standards. The input is in the
form of Tiff, PDF.

5) Modeling and Detailing of MLG (Main Landing Gear)

• Modeling and Detailing of MAIN LANDING GEAR.
• Work involves in detail design and drafting of MLG according to input and client standards.
• The parts are generally sheet metal and part design components like skin, stringers and fwd
Angels.

PROJECTS HANDLED AT ESSENTIAL ENGG. PVT LTD. :

1. Conversion of IGES data to Parameterized Data: The project involved Conversion of

unparametrized IGES data to parameterized data for suitable for meshing using CATIA V5
and ANSYS. As a Design Engineer I was responsible for conversion of the IGES data to
Parameterized data. Primarily the PD and GSD workbenches were used. The solid models
had to be modeled proper without any inconsistencies and the curvature continuities had to
be checked in case of surfaces.

2. Roof Cross Member Holding Fixture: The project involved orientation of the component
for the welding spot considering location of toggle clamp position using CATIA V5. As a
Design Engineer I was responsible for converting the input IGES data to parametric surfaces.
The model was in JAMA-ISV1 and this data had to parameterize for further operations.
I was responsible in successful completion of the above Parts & Assemblies (3D-Models, 2D-Part
Drawings), meeting all the target dates using CATIA-V5 & TEAMCENTER.

TECHNICAL EXPOSURE:

•Sound knowledge of Aero structures and system components.

•Expertise in Solid, Surface modeling, sheet metal design and Drafting of system components using
Catia V5R16.
•Expertise in working with TEAMCENTER.
•Reading the drawings and convert the 2D drawing to 3D modeling.
