God towards people:
Isaiah 65:1112-- “But ye are they that forsake the Lord, who forget my holy mountain, who
prepare a table for that troop, and who furnish the drink offering unto that number. Therefore will I
number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did
not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein
I delighted not.”
Isaiah 66:4-- “I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because
when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes,
and chose that in which I delighted not.”

land which floweth with milk and honey.”

seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.”
Isaiah 62:4-- “Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed
Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the Lord delighteth in thee,

delivered me, because He delighted in me.”
Psalms 18:17-- “He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for
they were too strong for me. They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay.
He brought me forth also into a large place; He delivered me, because He delighted in me. The Lord
rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he
recompensed me. For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my
God. For all His judgments were before me, and I did not put away His statutes from me. I was also
upright before Him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity. Therefore hath the Lord recompensed me
according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.”

way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.”
Psalms 94:18-19-- “When I said, ‘My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.’ In the
multitude of my thoughts within me Thy comforts delight my soul.”

upright in their way are His delight.”
Proverbs 12:22-- “Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they who deal truly are His
delight.”
Isaiah 42:1-- “Behold My servant, whom I uphold; Mine elect, in whom My soul delighteth; I
have put My spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.”
Jeremiah 9:23-24-- “Thus saith the Lord, ‘Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let
the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth
glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth Me, that I am the Lord Who exercises
lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the Earth: for in these things I delight’, saith the
Lord.”

humans in relating to God:
Job 22:23-26-- Eliphaz exhorted Job, “‘If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou
shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles. Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of
Ophir as the stones of the brooks. Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty
of silver. For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.’”
Job 27:8-10-- “‘For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh
away his soul? Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him? Will he delight himself in the
Almighty? Will he always call upon God?’”
Job 34:5-9-- Elihu proclaims, “For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my
judgment. Should I lie against my right? My wound is incurable without transgression. What man is
like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water? Who goeth in company with the workers of iniquity,
and walketh with wicked men. For he hath said, ‘It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight
himself with God.’”
Malachi 2:17-- “Ye have wearied the Lord with your words. Yet ye say, ‘Wherein have we
wearied Him?’ When ye say, ‘Every one who doeth evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and He
delighteth in them’; or, ‘Where is the God of judgment?’
Psalms 22:6-8-- King David said, “But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and
despised of the people. All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the
head, saying, ‘He trusted on the Lord that He would deliver him: let Him deliver him, seeing he
delighted in Him.”
Malachi 3:1-- “1 Behold, I will send My messenger, and he shall prepare the way before Me: and
the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to His temple, even the Messenger of the covenant,
Whom ye delight in: behold, He shall come’, saith the Lord of hosts.”
Psalms 37:4-- “Delight thyself also in the Lord: and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”
Psalms 40:8-- “I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy Law is within my heart”.
Isaiah 58:1-2-- “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show My people their
transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. Yet they seek Me daily, and delight to know My
ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of Me
the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.”
Isaiah 58:13-14-- “If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on My
holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour Him, not
doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words; then shalt thou
delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the Earth, and feed
thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.”
What conclusions did you come to? Who and what should you delight in and who and what should you
not delight in?
