Sand Blast 2009 is designed to connect students with each other and most
importantly with God. We want to take steps to prepare them for their return to
school and the challenges that are ahead and to be leaders for Christ in their school.
We plan on swimming, playing games, roasting marshmallows, and all the other fun
stuff that goes along with camping. We also plan on having worship music,
challenging teachings, group discussions, and devotions.

 Additional Information
Transportation: We are contracting for a school bus with Lakeview Public Schools. This is the most efficient and cost
effective way to make sure we have enough room to take as many students as possible. We will also have a separate
vehicle at camp to accommodate any special needs.

Scholarships: If for any reason cost is an issue, please let us know and we will work with you. Don’t let cost be the reason
to miss Sand Blast.

Rustic Camping: We will be camping in tents. Guys and gals will be in separate tents and in separate sections of the
campsite. The site we are on is a rustic camp site and does not have showers or sinks. There are out-houses on the site.
Bathhouses are located at the main camping area for anyone who needs to shower.

Tents Needed: Please email Brian Showerman at bshowerman@firstwes.org if you have a 5 or more person tent
available for our use or check the box on the Parental Consent Form.

Supervision: There will be several male and female adult leaders participating in Sand Blast 2009. If you are interested
in being an adult leader on this trip please email Brian Showerman or check the box on the Parental Consent Form. You
will need to fill out a Volunteer/Leader application prior to your participation (if you have not already done so).

To Register: Fill out the attached Parental Consent Form and turn it in to the church office (M-F, 9-4:30PM) along with
your payment of $80. Make checks payable to First Wesleyan Church. You can also turn in your form and payment to
Zakk Roberts on Sunday morning at the Student Center.
