Abbreviated verse: Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. - Psalm 90:2 Full Verse: Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. - Psalm 90:2

Song:
Who Made God? (QWA V1)

Bible Reading:
Revelations 1:8 - I am the alpha and the omega. Focus on alpha for devotion. Gen 1:1-2 - The beginning of the creation account. Emphasis on God being in the beginning and nothing existing before Him.

Discussion Questions:
- Can you name some things people (or even you) have created? - What are some of your favorite creations of God? - Can you think of one person or thing that nobody created?

Devotion:
(based on content from Who is God at Ministry-to-Children.com) In the beginning, God! (from Genesis 1:1) There is no one like Him! God is the most powerful being that exists. He created everything. Is it even possible that someone else created God? NO! God is THE Creator. Read Revelations 1:8 again. God says that He is the Alpha and the Omega. Alpha is the rst letter of the Greek alphabet and Omega is the last letter. So what is God saying about Himself here? What is the rst letter of the alphabet? A! What comes before A? Nothing. God says of Himself that He is the A AND the Z. He is the beginning AND the end. Nobody comes before Him and Nobody comes after Him. Since nobody came before God, we know that nobody existed to create Him! That is what we mean when we say God is everlasting. Everlasting means that He has always been here, even before the beginning of the world, and will continue to always be here.

Look around you. Think about the world outside. Trees, mountains, air, animals, people... they all have a Creator! God created all of them. Now think about things like cars, houses, chairs, and computers. They all have creators too: people! Using the imagination, tools, and skills given to them by God, people create things all the time. There is nothing and no one who does not have a creator. Except God! He is the only being that exists that has always existed. Nobody made Him! Truly, there is no one like our God.

Unit Craft/Activity: Attributes/Characteristics of God.

Continue the attribute activity chosen in the Who Is God lesson (ip book or page/poster). Throughout the unit, discuss the meaning of each attribute in a way that the kids can relate to. Feel free to add attributes that werent discussed in the devotions.(For this lesson, attributes to add could include Everlasting, Alpha and Omega, etc.)

Additional Craft and Activity Ideas for This Lesson:

God Made Poster - Make a collage on a notebook paper or card stock to put in the Sound Words Notebook. Write GOD at the top. Cut out pictures of things God created and glue it on. You could also glue on bits from a nature walk or write words or draw pictures to represent creations of God. If desired, write nobody made God on the bottom.

Printables:
Scripture charts are at the end of this document. The color one is for displaying for reference as you are doing this lesson. The black and white one is for use as a coloring sheet. The underline indicates what I have my young kids memorize. Older kids could memorize the whole thing. See the Who Made God? Lesson post on proverbialhomemaker.com for additional printables: - Copywork: Uses the catechism answer and scripture. Three different levels: Long, Short Print and Short Italic - Notebooking Pages: One with dotted midlde line writing space and another with regular lines.
