Tow we approach the very fundamentals of our newer understanding o f Cosmology ’and no doubt our students w i l l be surprised at the s t a t e ments made and demand much proof and enter into much argument. We w i l l not deal with th e o rie s , however, but with f a c t s and we w i l l analyze f a c t s , turn them around and look at them from every side, and in every p o s s ib le way permit them to r e v e a l to us t h e i r true mean ing in preferen ce to a favor ed meaning we may wish to take from them. So l e t us begin with the f i r s t statement of f a c t and then examine i t . FIRST COSMIC LAW O F CREATION: " A ll that e x i s t s in the Universe, and that has / to maintain l i f e , is in the form of a c e l l . " life and the power

SECOND COSMIC LAW OF CREATION: "The Universe i t s e l f i s a c e l l , the counterpart 'of the smallest c e l l , and the smallest c e l l i s a counterpart of the u n iv e r s e . " Now our students w i l l hardly challenge the statement o f f a c t s con tained in the f i r s t law, and i f any do so challenge we w i l l take up that issue very s h o rtly . But most of our students w i l l challenge the f a c t s contained in the statement of the second law, not so much because of the astounding nature o f the f a c t s , or because they con t r a d i c t what has been taught about the universe h e r e t o f o r e , but be cause i t seems so l o g i c a l , true, and reasonable that fur ther f a c t s and proof are wanted. So we w i l l spend our time just now in a review of the f a c t s con tained in the second law. THE UNIVERSE A CELL

That means, then, one of you w i l l say, that the earth we l i v e on is the only planet in the universe, or, in other words, that there is no other planet; that the universe consists of only one planet. This i s absolutely true and c o r r e c t, as you w i l l soon discover from even casual inq uiry and i n v e s t i g a t i o n .
»

I t also means that instead of there being one great centr al Sun, around which our sun and other suns t r a v e l , and that around each Sun many, many planets are also t r a v e l l i n g , there is only ONE sun and cu only one planet. S i t means that there is NO ENDLESS SPACE, as we have been taught no endless Cosmic realm f i l l e d with stars and planets and moons and suns and comets and clu ste rs of something or other, as modern astronomy t r i e s to t e l l us in order to explain a vj the things they cannot explain.

S

I t means that the Universe i s one great b a l l , i f you wish to think 1 ■- i t that way, one great c e l l l i k e the small c e l l of protoplasm,

and that within th is c e l l e x i s t s ALL THERE IS O F THIS GREAT UNIVERSE. As one closes one’ s eyes and contemplates such a universe, the f i r s t great impression that comes i s that of SIMPLICITY and HARMONY. And then as 'one considers furth er one r e a l i z e s how a l l the laws of God and nature would and could the b e t t e r manifest and cooperate in such a universe, and how u t t e r l y absurd and in consistent was the o l d scheme that has been f o b t e i e d upon us f o r so long. I t is f i t t i n g , th e r e f o r e , to a n tic ip a te some questions that w i l l a r is e in your mind and thereby prevent undue concern regarding points which wiUbe covered in d e t a i l l a t e r , and to prepare you f o r the next steps in our study, that we o u tli n e here a few o f the f a c t s which most n a tu r a l ly r e s u l t from the one fundamental f a c t that the universe is a c e ll, x We, as inhabitants of the universe, inhabit the inside o f the c e l l and l i v e on the i n s id e , and not the outside.

The sun, the moon and a l l the s o - c a l le d planets and stars are within the universe; in other words, on the INSIDE of the cell# A l l cosmic space i s in sid e the universe, within the d e f i n i t e confines of the universe, and we know of no space or anything e ls e which MAY or MAY NOT be on the outside of the c e l l , i f there i s an outside. In other words, we do not SPECULATE regarding what we cannot i n v e s t i g a t e . A l l space, a l l time, and a l l distance must be measured and con sidered as within the l i m i t s of this one huge c e l l . We know the circumference of th is planet we l i v e in and we know i t s diameter. These measurements con stitute the greatest measurement of space p o s s ib le in t h i s universe. A l l f o r c e s , a l l energie s, a l l powers, are within this c e l l and cannot be out of i t . This means conservation, greater f o r c e , harmony, consistency. God and the Cosmic Mind, the a l l - d i r e c t i n g i n t e l l i g e n c e , i s also with in the Universe, f i l l i n g i t , pervading i t , guiding i t , manifesting everywhere within i t , and nothing within the uni verse can escape contact with God and the Cosmic Mind. Therefore a l l l i f e , a l l consciousness, i s part of the great l i f e f o r c e and consciousness which i s within the great c e l l ; and th is means that a l l l i f e and a l l consciousness i s attuned, in touch with and in sympathy with a l l other l i f e , mind and nature e x i s t i n g in the Universe.

Here we have a mass of f a c t s that are not only s t a r t l i n g , but which explain so many things and make cle ar so much that has been hard to understand, that we see we must begin our studies of l i f e and the

universe a l l over again. To the chemist, with the problems of na t u r e ’ s manifesting f o r c e s , and to the i d e a l i s t who seeks to f i n d the law of harmony of minds and nature— to these a l i k e w i l l these f a c t s appeal as o f f e r i n g the f i r s t solution of the combined mysteries of the universe. But we must now take each one of the f a c t s , and any others we may d is co v er, and analyze them c a r e f u l l y . Let us take the f i r s t important f a c t : The earth i s a c e l l .

This means that the universe consists of a hollow sphere. I t means that the earth we l i v e on or in i s a l l there i s to the universe, and that i t i s a huge c e l l con sis tin g of a sphere with a thick crust or shell. Inside of th is b a l l , on the in sid e o f the s h e l l of the b a l l , are the continents, the oceans, the mountains, the lakes and the p l a i n s — and we, as human beings, with a l l other animal l i f e , l i v e INSIDE of th is b a l l , on th is s h e l l . So f a r th is does not upset a s i n g l e claim of the old schools regard ing our r e l a t i o n to the earth and the shape o f the earth, except that we l i v e on the in s id e and that the earth i s a hollow sphere. The old school t o l d us that the earth i s ROUND. So say we. They have said that the earth i s nearly a p e r f e c t sphere. So say we. They say we l i v e on the surface of i t s crust. So say we. But we say that we l i v e on the insid e surface instead of on the outside surfaoe. Let us examine the evidence that the other schools g iv e us regarding t h e i r claim that the earth i s round and that we l i v e on the outside of i t . They say the earth i s round because we have been able to t r a v e l around i t in one continuous d i r e c t i o n and return to where we s tar te d from. . This you w i l l f i n d in nearly a l l school geographies to be the p r i n c i p a l evidence given to support the statement that the earth i s round. But we can grant t h i s , too. I t i s good evidence. But i t ap plies equally as w e ll i f we are l i v i n g on the INSIDE of the sphere. I t i s just as p ossib le to t r a v e l in ope continuous d i r e c t i o n on the INSIDE of a b a l l as "it i s on the outside o f i t s s h e l l . There is ju st one other point made by the o ld school: I t i s that we l i v e on the OUTSIDE of th is sphere, and the proof o f f e r e d f o r th is statement i s t h i s : When we watch a ship s a i l out into the ocean we n o t i c e that as i t reaches what i s c a l l e d the horizon i t appears to sink below the horizon as though i t were going down h i l l ; that the horizon i t s e l f i s due to the curvature of the earth, and the sky and water seem to meet only because we are l i v i n g on the outside of the earth. Such i s the evidence that i s given us to prove that we l i v e on the outside of the earth. I t i s as r e l i a b l e evidence as taking you stu-

dents out into a l e v e l str etch of country and saying: "Now we w i l l prove that a l l r a i l road tracks eventually meet at a p oin t and are not the same distance apart continuously." And then you are t o l d to look at a long s tr e t c h of r a i l road track and note that in the distance the tracks appear to come to a point and meet. I f you did not know b e t t e r , such evidence might be accepted. But one of you might say: your evidence consists o f an occular i l l u s i o n ; and at best your evidence i s only a testimony of sight and we have learned that sigh t cannot always be depended upon. Now i f we ask the other schools f o r b e t t e r evidence that the earth i s round and that we l i v e on the OUTSIDE of the earth, we f i n d a g reat mass of f a c t s given to us which do not prove anything one way or another. The e c l i p s e of the sun by the moon, the ec lip s e of the moon by the earth, and various other c e l e s t i a l phenomena are pointed out to us as p ro of that we l i v e on the outside of the earth. A l l these explanations were invented years and years ago when astronomy and cosmology were f i r s t ou tlin e d in theory; and the same e c lip s e can be explained today by our f a c t s that we l i v e on the INSIDE of the earth, and with much more reason and understanding. Then we have those who w i l l a r is e and say: How can the sun be m il l i o n s of miles away i f i t i s enclosed within th is earth which i s not even one m i l l i o n miles in diameter? At f i r s t th is seems to be a d i f f i c u l t question to answer u n t i l we ask the s c i e n t i s t s how they know that the sun i s so many miles away. They answer by saying that the distance i s measured by a mathematical process, the formula f o r which begins w ith the assumption that we l i v e on the OUTSIDE of the earth. I f the assumption i s changed to the one that we l i v e on the INSIDE of the ear th , and the same exact formula used, properly r e versed, we w i l l f i n d that the sun’ s distance agrees with the assump t i o n that we l i v e on the INSIDE of the earth. Such f ig u r e s , then, that can be changed according to what assumption you begin with, are worthless as evidence. So the sun’ s distance cannot be brought into the argument at t h i s time. But i f you ask: "Have you any evidence f o r your statments that is b e t t e r than the other schools g i v e f o r t h e i r claims?" we can say: "Yes, we have evidence that the other schools ignore because i t does not f i t in with what they claim and yet to us i t i s the most impor tant evidence that one nould ask f o r . " Q: Next week we w i l l take up the study of our new Arcane Cosmology, based upon numerous f a c t s that w i l l be I n t e r e s t i n g l y presented. END OF LECTURE NUM BER FOUR.
