Constraints

v ! The business scenarios that are presented here serve as examples of how you can use SAP software in your company. The business scenarios are only intended as models and do not necessarily run the way they are described here in your customer-specific system landscape. Ensure to check your requirements and systems to determine whether these scenarios can be used productively at your site. Furthermore, we recommend that you test these scenarios thoroughly in your test systems to ensure they are complete and free of errors before going live. v ! This Upgrade Master Guide at hand primarily discusses the overall technical upgrade of SAP BusinessObjects Spend Performance Management, rather than its subordinate components. This means that additional software dependencies may exist without being mentioned explicitly in this document. You can find more information about component-specific software dependencies in the corresponding upgrade guides.

2 Upgrade Overview

2.1 Upgrade at a Glance

SAP BusinessObjects Spend Performance Management 3.0 introduces several new features. For a complete list of these features, see the Release Notes on SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.com. The upgrade is performed by replacing the existing 2.1 application and business data (installation), and by migrating user-created data from 2.1 format to 3.0 format. The installation is described separately in the Installation and Configuration Guide for SAP BusinessObjects Spend Performance Management 3.0 on SAP Service Marketplace at http://service.sap.com/instguidesssa . This document primarily focuses on the migration of user-created data from 2.1 to 3.0. For the upgrade information given in this document, it is assumed that the existing 2.1 system is to be upgraded to 3.0. For scenarios in which the 3.0 environment is located on a different system, the user-created persisted data needs to be loaded into the new system.
