Principle of Operation
With the start of the gas turboset, control air supply system MBX35 also starts and remains in operation until the turboset has come to standstill. Normally both compressors, MBX35 AP010 and AP020, are in operation. Compressor MBX35 AP010 supplies air tank MBX35 BB010 and is controlled by pressure switch MBX35 CP010. The air taken in is pumped through filter with water separator MBX35 AT010, dryer AT011 and filter AT012 into air tank MBX35 BB010. Then the cleaned and dried air flows through safety valve MBX35 AA011, air outlet valve MBX35 AA012 and pressure reducer MBX35 DP030 into control air systems MBX36 and MBX37. Compressor MBX35 AP020 supplies air receiver MBX35 BB020 and is controlled by pressure switch MBX35 CP020. The air taken in is pumped through filter with water separator MBX35 AT020, dryer AT021 and filter AT022 into receiver MBX35 BB020. Then the air flows through pressure reducing valve MBX35 AA021, air outlet valve MBX35 AA022 and pressure reducing valve MBX35 DP030 and also into the control air systems. During a failure of one compressor the other one supplies the control air systems with the demanded control air. A faulty compressor can be repaired or replaced during operation. To prevent air from escaping into the open during repair or replacement, the operator has to close the corresponding air outlet valve MBX35 AA012 or MBX35 AA022. After repair has been completed, the operator has to open the air outlet valve. During normal operation, both air outlet valves are open.
