Launchpad
A collection of navigation destinations that are stored as a separate technical object in the system. You use a launchpad to allow users to navigate to specific goals outside of the current Floorplan Manager application. For example, this could mean navigating to other Web Dynpro ABAP applications, external Web pages, transactions, reports, or other business objects. The YouCanAlso and RelatedLinks elements are available in the toolbar of Object Instance Floor Plans and Guided Activity Floor Plans. You can assign these elements to different launchpads. In the floorplan for an overview page, you can integrate launchpads via the launchpad component.

Note
The system displays the launchpad as a dropdown list. Descriptions that you have written for launchpad applications cannot be displayed in Floorplan Manager. The YouCanAlso and RelatedLinks elements are fixed toolbar components of the SAP design standards for floorplan user interfaces. They are displayed as links. In the concrete Floorplan Manager application, both elements can have different names on the user interface. You can also change this name in via the configuration editor.

Structure
The fundamental structure of a launchpad is determined by the launchpad type. It defines whether a launchpad can have levels of classification and how many it can have. You can choose from the following launchpad types: Default The default type, which enables you to define multiple folders for a launchpad in Customizing. You can assign any number of applications to each of the folders. FPM_UIBB A launchpad type intended specifically for the requirements of an overview page floorplan. This type enables you to define a two-tiered hierarchy in Customizing for the launchpad. On the higher level, you define individual areas that you assign multiple folders to on the second level. You can assign any number of applications to each of the folders. Embedded A launchpad type that does not allow multiple folders in Customizing for the launchpad. Instead, you can only define a simple list of applications. For example, you can use this type on the confirmation screen of a Guided Activity Floor Plan. The lowest classification level of a launchpad in Customizing are the folders, where you can put together multiple applications of thematically related applications. You can assign any number of applications to a launchpad. Each application is described by its application type as well as additional attributes that are dependent on the application type. In a Floorplan Manager application, not every application type can be called up in every runtime environment. The following table describes which application types can be called up in which runtime environment.

You can create multiple folders for every launchpad. You can use these folders to group applications.

Note
In Floorplan Manager, as opposed to the conventional use of launchpads in portals, only those navigation destinations are shown that were created as applications in the first folder of the launchpad. In the display, the system hides the applications in the other folders of the launchpad.

Recommendation
For launchpads you have assigned the standard launchpad type to and would like to assign to an FPM application, we recommend that you not use a folder.
