INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Set up a group that consists of between three (3) and five (5) members from your section only and name your group using any statistical term. 2. A list of topics related to problems and issues in UMP are provided. Prepare a study proposal based on the topic given randomly. You may only proceed conducting your study after getting the approval from your lecturer. Marks will be given for your study proposal. Use the template of study proposal provided on page 2. 3. Use the template on page 3 as the cover for your assignment booklet. Fill in all the required particulars clearly. 4. Attach five (5) sample answered questionnaires as an appendix section. ATTENTION! The objectives of this assignment are to help you understand the statistical analysis process and to develop your integrity in reporting your assignment. Late submission of assignment will not be entertained. In this assignment, you are required to apply statistical problem-solving methodology. You may follow the steps below. i) Identify the problem or issue - You have to clearly state your problem or issue and the objectives of the study. (2 Marks) ii) Decide on the method of data collection - You are required to collect the data (primary or secondary) by choosing one of the methods of data collection discussed in this course. (1 Marks) iii) Collect the data - State the population under study and explain clearly how you obtain the sample by choosing one of the four basic methods under probability data. - Give the reason for choosing that particular sampling method. (Note: For primary data collection, the sample size should be 40 and above while for secondary data collection, the sample size should be at least 100) (9 Marks) iv) Classify and summarise the data - Use Microsoft Excel to organise, classify and summarise the data according to their characteristics or attributes. (6 Marks) v) Present and analyse the data - Use Microsoft Excel to perform the descriptive statistics for the data including measures of central tendency and measures of variation / dispersion. - Plot the suitable graph and determine the shape of data distribution. Give your comment on your findings. (6 Marks) vi) Conclude your study. (3 Marks)
