leaving top edge open toward Flap

white along the edges. Turn RS out.

rows of top st (see Special Stitch)

across 11 rows to top of Flap, pull
yarn to WS. Fasten off.

black held tog, join with sl st in cen-
ter of Flap at black edge, ch 8, sl st
in next st. Fasten off.
Felting
Using acrylic yarn, loosely baste the
Flap to body in order to help retain
the shape of the Flap while felting.
Place the Clutch in a pillowcase,
which captures the loose fibers that
come out of the wool during the
felting process; place pillowcase
in washing machine. Put through
2 hot-water wash cycles using no
detergent, do not rinse between
cycles. Monitor the felting process
as the time may vary depending on
the desired firmness of the Clutch.
Rinse in cold water. Let washer spin
out some of water, take Clutch out
of pillowcase and roll in a towel to
absorb more moisture.
Lay out on towel, adjust shape as
needed and let dry completely.
Sew button on front opposite front
closure lp.
