Tech II-Semester Regular Examinations September-2009 CMOS ANALOG & MIXED SIGNAL DESIGN ( DS & CE ) Time : 3 Hours Max.Marks: 60 Answer Any Five Questions All Questions Carry Equal Marks ---1.a] Draw the circuit for CMOS CASCODE current source circuit and explain its working, with the help of necessary equations. b] Using the 10 A , n-channel reference, design three current sources with values of 20, 50 and 60 A , using PMOSFETS. L=5 , KP = 17 A/v Vas = 1.2v VTHP = 0.91v . Draw the circuit. 2.a] b] Draw the circuit for thermal voltage referenced self biasing circuit and device the expression for temperature coefficient TC of IO and TC of VT. Using multiplier current reference, design a 10 A current source. Estimate the temperature coefficient of the reference and assume VDD = Vss = 2.5V . Draw the circuit. Draw the CMOS Regulated cascade current Mirror circuit and derive the expression for output resistance Rout. For a common source Amplifier circuit, determine the voltage gain Av, given W=100 m , L=1.6 m .ID=0.1 A . I bvas = 100 A . Assume reasonable values of data required. Draw the circuit for CMOS. Common source Amplifier and derive the expressions for Av, fin and fout. For a CMOS Common Source Amplifier, determine the gain and Bandwidth of the amplifier.
