Over the past few months, the Town of Nipawin has experienced a major boom in lot sales. Infill lots, as well as lots in the new Coventry subdivision are filling up quickly. Just recently, 13 lots have been purchased and only four vacant lots remain in Coventry. To encourage infill lot development, infill tax incentives have increased to 100% for the first four years after purchase. Planning and Development Updates ~ Where we are in the Planning Process

As Nipawin continues to grow, so do the needs of its community. In order to handle these new requirements, the Economic Development, Business and Planning department has been busy with prioritizing and finalizing a variety of new developments. The Town is in the process of beginning work on the Industrial Park and Airport, exploring new developments and subdivisions to assess housing needs across the continuum, and is in the process of awarding a variety of new projects, including developing a community foundation assessment. Furthermore, the Twin Lakes District Planning Committee is quickly becoming a reality as the District Official Community Plan (DOCP) is in its final stages of organization. The Town Planner is currently working closely with Town Office Staff and Town Council to ensure best practice planning methods are being utilized across all areas of development.
