Chipata, Zambia

These last two months have been extremely busy! Our ministry partners, the Pestkes, began furlough in the states in August, and the Lord has really been teaching us as well as stretching our faith. We are thankful for the work the Lord has called us to!

Ministry:
The bush church, Big Tree Baptist Church, has seen visitors each week. Some of these are travelers who have stopped to visit on their way through, and others have begun attending regularly. However people come, we are thankful for the opportunity to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to them. This past week, Janice and I separately taught the women and men on the responsibilities of husbands and wives and the order of godly leadership in family and church. The messages were well received! This Sunday, we celebrate the churchs one year anniversary with a special service and all will share a meal together. Janice is teaching at another bush area called Chinjara several times a month. This is a group of 10-15 ladies from several churches around that area. While they are a small group,

they remain faithful and are eager to learn the Word of God. My formal language studies are progressing well and I continue to look for opportunities to use what Ive learned when I am in town or in the bush. Please continue to pray with me as I ask for understanding and wisdom in learning the language to be able to better minister in and around Chipata.

Family Mid August we sent our son, Levi, on a plane to New York to begin his next phase pursuing a job in plumbing and pipetting. We were thankful he was able to travel home with the Pestke family. He is settling well, and now we are preparing for a wonderful Early Christmas with a visit from Olivia and Josiah for a few weeks inNovember! As the cooler fall season blankets North America, we are ushering the hottest season here in Zambia! October brings temps well into the hundreds! We schooled right through until now, and we will be taking our Summer School Break for the month! Who can think in that kind of heat anyways? Prayer Points Language studies Olivia and Josiah until Nov.19 Pray for traveling mercies! Strength and wisdom in ministry and family!

Team Visit:
In early September Micah and I assisted a dental team from the states at several different locations in the bush. The days were long and hot which made for a very tiring week, but we rejoice that the gospel was clearly presented to well over one hundred people, either one-on-one or in small group settings. There was a great response from the people with many asking questions and desire to learn more about the Bible. There were several salvation decisions - Praise the Lord! Please pray with us as we work to follow up with these people and see how the Lord will use this in the future.
