Indigenous Scholarships for MS leading to PhD and PhD (Phase- I)

University of Haripur is a dynamic, fast expanding educational institution and has the potential to become a hub for transfer of knowledge to the social sector. The main objective of the university is to establish a community of outstanding scholars, teachers and administrative staff to promote and maintain academic distinction and contribute to national development through incorporation of academic research findings in national policies. Presently, 13 Academic Departments with 2457 students of BSc , Masters, MS and PhD are studying in disciplines of basic &applied sciences, social sciences, humanities and business administration. The university has projected enrollment of 4500 students in year 2014 and 2015. It is committed to provide growth opportunities in the country by developing high educational standards and helping/ supporting the youth to get quality education. The University of Haripur invites applications from outstanding Pakistani/AJK nationals for award of MS leading to PhD and PhD scholarships (Indigenous) under the project title Up gradation of Haripur Sub Campus to University of Haripur in the following areas: 1. Agriculture 2. Management Science 3. Environmental Sciences 4. Education 5. Information Technology 6. Psychology 7. Islamic & Religious Studies 8. Economics 9. Geology 10. Medical Lab Technologies 11. Forest & Wildlife Management 12. Microbiology 13. Public Health 14. Law 15. English

Basic Eligibility Criteria

a) Pakistani/AJK National. b) Candidate must have minimum 16 years of education for MS leading to PhD and 18 years of education for PhD with no 3rd division in degree/ certificate of entire academic career. c) Maximum age at the closing date of application i.e. 30th Sep, 2013 (40 years for full time regular faculty members and employees of the Public Sector University /R & D

organizations and 35 years for all others). d) The candidates who are already availing any other HEC/Government scholarship are NOT eligible to apply.

e) Candidates who have valid GAT-General /Subject test conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS) and obtained minimum 50 in GAT- General or 60 in GAT- Subject (Accumulative Score) to become eligible to apply for scholarship. Documents Required along with application. a) CV/Resume and photocopies of all educational testimonials attested by Gazetted officer. b) Attested photocopy of CNIC and two Passport size Photograph. c) Attested copy of valid GAT (General/ Subject) score card. d) In service candidates should apply through proper channel. Advanced copies will be entertained, however NOC from the organization must be provided before September 30, 2013. The NOC must clearly mention that the candidate will be relieved to serve University of Haripur on selection. e) Brief study proposal (two pages maximum) f) Three letters of reference from academic/research supervisors/faculty members. g) The applicants are directed to deposit a bank draft of Rs. 1000/-(non refundable) in the favor of the Treasure, University of Haripur. IMPORTANT NOTE All scholarships will be awarded on open merit basis. Only selected candidates through prescribed procedure shall be offered faculty position (if the selected candidate is employed somewhere else) in which case they would be required to join the University of Haripur within four weeks of issuance of offer letter. Awardees must serve University of Haripur for at least five (5) years after completion PhD/MS as the case may be. All the selected candidates shall furnish a Bond as per the University rules. The bonds are to be guaranteed by two permanent Gazetted Officers and witnessed by two permanent employees of the University. University reserves the right to postpone or cancel the scholarship process at any stage without assigning any reason. Incomplete or applications received after due date will NOT be entertained.
