Sensex down by 1.76%@19379.77pts,Nifty down by 1.68%@5735.30pts prov. European indices FTSE, DAX & CAC were down by 0.81% to 1.15% prov. NASDAQ was down by 0.15%, Dow Jones Ind. Avg. was down by 0.46% prov. Sensex down by 347.50 pts @ 19379.77 & Nifty down by 97.90 pts @ 5735.30 The BSE Sensex slumped nearly 350 points on Monday as blue chips were hit by continued worries about the economy after the central bank this month raised interest rates, while concerns about a looming U.S. government shutdown also weighed. India's current account deficit probably widened to as high as 5.4 percent in the June quarter.
