Bronchodilator

Stimulates beta2 receptors of the bronchi, leading to bronchodilation. Causes less tachycardia and is longer-acting than isoproterenol.

Prophylaxis and relief of bronchospasm in reversible obstructive airway disease.

Hypersensitivity to drug

Headache, nausea and vomiting, palpitations, tremor

Maintain calm, reassuring approach. Do not leave child unattended if acutely short of breath; should improve 30-60 min after therapy.

May cause dizziness, use with caution.

Keep record of pulse and respiratory rate.

Cefuroxime sodium
