Section 1: Installing the MyPhone Server Introduction

General Description
Aspire MyPhone is a Web based Application that gives a variety of features, with the added advantages of contact details, previous calls information, Call forwarding and one-click dialling from directories. All features are functional on all supported platforms. Aspire MyPhone matches the Caller number (CLI) to match the contact details to be popped up on receiving calls. Records for the contacts are kept in Microsoft Outlook. The user can add a new record if no match is found. Records for the calls made and received are saved in a database and can be viewed by the user at any time. Any calls missed by the user are kept separate for call back if desired. Aspire MyPhone allows various forwarding options such as Do Not Disturb or Immediate transfer to be set on an extension, without the need to touch the handset. Aspire MyPhone provides the facility of monitoring of other devices within the organisation to allow Users to see whether colleagues are free or on the phone.

Section 1: Installing the MyPhone Server Getting Started

Requirements
MyPhone Server
Before you install Aspire MyPhone Server you should ensure that the Aspire TSP is installed and running on the Server. For instructions on how to do this you should refer to the Aspire CTI Manual.

MyPhone Server Specification

Operating System Web Server Database Server CPU Memory Drives Microsoft Windows 2000 Server (Min SP3) Microsoft Windows Server 2003 IIS Internet Information Services (Min IIS 5.0) Microsoft SQL Server (MSDE) 2000 Intel based 2.0Ghz Processor 1GB RAM Free Space 2.0Gb CD-Rom Drive fig1.01 Note: We recommend a dedicated PC Server be used for Aspire MyPhone. The setup requires you to be logged onto the PC Server as a Local Administrator. The server should be connected to the network via the TCP/IP Protocol (Including WINS, DNS services), and should include the appropriate number of Client Access Licenses. An IT Administrator is normally required during the installation. The backup procedure and virus defence is the responsibility of the customer.

Installation Procedure
The MyPhone Server installation consists of five individual software components: 1) Aspire TSP (Telephony Server Provider) Installation 2) SQL Server (MSDE) Installation 3) IIS Installation 4) CT Server Installation 5) MyPhone Server Installation Note: For instructions on installing the Aspire TSP refer to the Aspire CTI Manual.

Section 1: Installing the MyPhone Server SQL Server Installation (MSDE)

The Aspire MyPhone Server operates via the SQL Engine. The following section assumes you will be using the freely distributable version of SQL Server (MSDE, Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine), available on the Aspire Technical CD v3.00. You should consult your NECI account manager for further information relating to MSDE and SQL Server usage in conjunction with Aspire MyPhone. 1) Insert the Aspire Technical CD v3.00 into the computers drive. 2) Click Start/Run from the Windows Start Menu and run the following <cdrom drive>:\Aspire Applications\Aspire CTI Applications\MSDE\setup.exe SAPWD=myphone, where <cdrom drive> is your CDRom Drive letter. You MUST ensure the setup is run by including the SAPWD switch otherwise setup will not proceed. A recommended example is included below, which runs Setup from D Drive and specifies the SAPWD as myphone. D:\Aspire Applications\Aspire CTI Applications\MSDE\setup.exe SAPWD=myphone, 3) To complete the installation the Computer must be restarted. Click YES to restart the computer or NO to return to Windows and restart manually.

Section 1: Installing the MyPhone Server CTServer Configuration

After successfully installing Arc CTServer you are required to configure parameters within Aspire and Arc Connect Administration. This enables the CTServer to communicate with the Aspire. You are required to create two databases for use with Aspire MyPhone (Configuration and Logging Database). It is advisable to block the logging database for use with Aspire MyPhone as it is not required and prevents log file growth. An Aspire extension is required in order to enable communication between the CTServer and Aspire. It is recommended to create a Virtual Extension so as not to use physical ports. You are also required to configure the CTServer for Automatic Startup. This adds benefits to both the System Administrator and MyPhone Client as the CTServer will start without requring user intervention. In addition to this there is also opportunity to Start and Stop the CTServer Manually.

Creation of Configuration Database

1) Using Windows Explorer create a new folder titled ArcData under the C Drive. i.e. C:\ArcData 2) Enter Arc Connect Administration which is accessible under Start/Programs/Arc Connect/Arc Connect Administration. This is also accessible via Windows Desktop if the icon was added during installation (See Fig1.21). 3) Select Database/Config DB under Arc Connect Administration. 4) Select the Maintenance Tab, and click New. The following should be displayed

fig1.26 5) Type MyPhone under the Name field. 6) Under the description field type MyPhone Server.

Configuring CTServer Parameters

1) Create a Virtual Extension Number on the Aspire in Programming Area 11-04 Virtual Extension Numbering. Make a note of the Virtual Extension as this is used in Fig 1.31. Note: You should refer to the Aspire Features Manual for further information on Virtual Extensions. 2) If you are not already in Arc Connect Administration you can enter via Start/Programs/Arc Connect/Arc Connect Administration. This is also accessible via Windows Desktop if the icon was added during installation (See Fig1.21). 3) Select Configuration/CT Gateway under Arc Connect Administration, which takes you to the General Tab (See Fig1.30).

Insert External Access Number (i.e 9), click Update to Apply. Note: The default setting for the Aspire is 9, which can be verified in Aspire Programming 11-09-01 Trunk Access Code. 6) Select the Host PBX Gateway Devices tab, the following screen is displayed (Fig 1.31).

ScreenPopping via Microsoft Outlook
Aspire MyPhone is able to pop contact records within Microsoft Outlook. This is achieved by matching the Caller ID within Aspire MyPhone to the Contacts folder within Microsoft Outlook. This places the contact information at the MyPhone users fingertips.

Out Dialing via Microsoft Outlook

Microsoft Outlook may be used to enable users to out dial via the Contacts folder. To enable this feature the Server specified as the MyPhone Server should be enabled as a TAPI Server. The TAPI Server may then be configured to distribute TAPI Devices via the LAN (Local Area Network). This allows LAN based PC users to use the TAPI Devices in conjunction with TAPI 2.1 supported Applications, such as Microsoft Outlook.

Section 3: Microsoft Outlook Integration

Aspire MyPhone Manual

Section 3: Microsoft Outlook Integration ScreenPopping via Microsoft Outlook

Configuration
Screenpopping is enabled in line with Step 6 of Installing the MyPhone Client (See Section 2: Installing the MyPhone Client), it is possible to specify Contacts folders located in either Personal Folders, Microsoft Exchange Mailbox or Microsoft Exchange Public Folders. Telephone numbers are received in Aspire MyPhone as a string (i.e 01509643100). Microsoft Outlook requires each telephone number be stored in canonical format (i.e +44 (01509) 643100). This enables Microsoft Outlook to correctly dial based on the users location. Aspire MyPhone uses a method of masking to translate the number from its original form, into the canonical form used by Microsoft Outlook. Information relating to canonical format can be found at the following locations. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q318575 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;247192
