Jumaa Prayer
for the Muslims of Africa and beyond
Intercede with Us for the Muslim World!
See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men (Joshua 6:2). Pilgrims are already beginning to arrive in Saudi Arabia for the 5-day hajj in Mecca, which begins 13 October. They will march around the Ka'aba, Islam's holiest shrine. Among them are some who have found Christ, who, like Joshua at Jericho, will march and pray, asking God to touch Muslims. Let's join them in prayer, that those who seek God will find Him!*

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students and Alumni

GUINEA-CONAKRY: After 2 years of delay and much conflict, this past Saturday Guinea held its first legislative elections in more than a decade. Elections were peaceful, but results have been delayed. A student reports that some Muslims have threatened repercussions if the elections do not have certain outcomes; he asks that we pray that the Lord will open the eyes of Muslims to the fact that they are not following the Truth. MALI: A graduate asks for prayer concerning three needs in his country: (1) for the return and reintegration of our brothers and sisters who were displaced from the north; (2) for the local church where I am pastora colonel who lives opposite the church has complained that we bother him with the noise of our worship, and demands that we stop all activities after midnight and lower the sound of our instruments during services; (3) for a lasting peace in Mali. TOGO / MALI: An alumnus working with a radio ministry writes, Pray for the Tem and Fulfulde of Togo. We have launched new programming that aims at Muslims discovering God. Broadcasting has started in [two cities] over 7 FM stations that Muslims listen to. In Mali, this ministry has been able to expand its broadcasting to 29 FM stations, reaching up to Timbuktu, and shortwave programs reach into the far north. Thank God for this increased coverage in this difficult area, and pray that listeners in both Togo and Mali will be captivated by God's message of love for them. WAAST: Students in the Islam in Africa class are working on proposals to present to national church leaders in their countries, encouraging them to implement education in the churches concerning reaching Muslims, set up national departments, establish prayer groupswhatever is needed to further outreach to these people. Please pray that these proposals will be well received and that the Spirit will give creative ideas to these leaders.

From Global Initiative**

Pray for Muslims in North Africa. Pray that the gospel of Jesus Christ would sweep across this stretch of countries. Eight nations make up North AfricaWestern Sahara, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, and South Sudan. All but South Sudan have a Muslim majority and restrict or persecute the Church. But our God knows no restrictions; pray that people in these lands will turn to Him!

For Muslim Women***

Please pray that the Holy Spirit would draw Pakistani women and men to himself as they sort through their pain and questions following the recent terrorist attack on All Saints Church in Peshawar. Pray that, like Joseph, women and their families will be able to say, You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives (Gen. 50:20).
