A collection of related data, Knowledge about a topic, Data that have been processed into a
format is called information. Information is organized data that has been arranged for better
comprehension, understanding and/or retrieval. What is one person's information can become
another person's data. This term has many meanings depending on the context. For example, it
is often related to such concepts as meaning, knowledge, communication, truth, representation,
and mental stimulus. Information is a data, content, analysis, news, reports, pictures, graphics,
video, audio, software and other materials and services, communications and other items,
tangible or intangible.
It is necessary to have quality information otherwise the business can face many problems.
The quality information comprises the following points……
• Accurate
• Complete
• Relevant
• Timely
• Authentic
• Cost beneficial
• Easy to use
Information as a concept has a diversity of meanings, from everyday usage to technical settings.
Generally speaking, the concept of information is closely related to notions of constraint,
communication, control, data, form, instruction, knowledge, meaning, mental stimulus, pattern,
perception, and representation.
SYSTEM:
Instrumentality that combines interrelated interacting artifacts designed to work as a
coherent entity. System is a group of independent but interrelated elements comprising a unified
whole. System (from Latin systēma, in turn from Greek '''' systēma) is a set of interacting or
interdependent entities, real or abstract, forming an integrated whole A collection of components
organized to accomplish a specific function or set of functions. A combination of interacting or
interdependent components, assembled to carry out one or more functions.System (from Latin
systēma, in turn from Greek σύστημα systēma) is a set of interacting or interdependent entities,
real or abstract, forming an integrated whole.
The concept of an "integrated whole" can also be stated in terms of a system embodying a set
of relationships which are differentiated from relationships of the set to other elements, and
from relationships between an element of the set and elements not a part of the relational
regime.
INFORMATION SYSTEM:
In a general sense, the term information system (IS) refers to a system of persons, data
records and activities that process the data and information in an organization, and it includes
the organization's manual and automated processes. In a narrow sense, the term information
system (or computer-based information system) refers to the specific application software
that is used to store data records in a computer system and automates some of the
information-processing activities of the organization. Computer-based information systems
are in the field of information technology. The discipline of Business process modeling
describes the business processes supported by information systems.
I.S is an organized collection, storage and presentation system of data and other knowledge
for decision making, progress reporting, and for planning and evaluation of programs. It can
be either manual or computerized, or a combination of both.
Information systems are those systems that allow managers to make decisions for the
successful operation] of businesses. Management information systems consist of computer
resources, people, and procedures used in the modern business enterprise. MIS also refers to
the organization that develops and maintains most or all of the computer systems in the
enterprise so the managers can make decisions. The goal of the MIS organization is to deliver
information systems to the various levels of corporate managers. MIS professionals create

An information system (IS) is a subset of the overall internal controls of a business covering
the application of people, documents, technologies, and procedures by management
accountants to solving business problems such as costing a product, service or a business-
wide strategy. Management information systems are distinct from regular information
systems in that they are used to analyze other information systems applied in operational
activities in the organization. Academically, the term is commonly used to refer to the group
of information management methods tied to the automation or support of human decision
making, e.g. Decision Support Systems, Expert systems, and Executive information systems.
A. This flow diagram of marketing Vp of sales and marketing is giving instruction and
information to the Director, MarCom.. Director gives information to admin and then
admin give information to the public relation and then the information go towards the
Web master and then Advertising department through management information
system and Advertiser give information in two different departments like display ads
/media and direct response. Then the information goes towards the Creative Services
and Creative Services distribute the information among further three departments such
as copy writers, graphic artist and traffic / admin and the information, Information
system processed on all the instruction and the information which he gets from the
Creative services pass to the event marketing.
B. From VP of sales and marketing the information also goes towards the director,
marketing and then admin and admin send this information to the 2 product managers.
And after all this information goes towards the research /analyst.
C. Director Sales gets information from the Vp of sales and marketing and then
transferred the information to the admin and the information flow towards inside
sales, inside sales send information to their department of customer service. After
inside sales the information goes towards the manager, channel sales. From here the
information goes between the channel marketing and channel sales after this the
information goes towards the manager, corporate sales after all the information goes
towards the manager, OEM / Alliances.

In above diagram we can see that data is collected from the business transaction and then
transferred to transaction processing systems. Transaction processing system takes
information from operational data bases and then this information will go to data bases of
valid transaction. And then information goes towards human recourses MIS. Human
recourses MIS is also collecting information from data bases of external data and data bases
of internal data. After taking all the information Human resource MIS send information to
benefit reports, salary surveys, scheduling reports, training test scores, job applicant profile
and needs and planning reports. As well as send data towards human resources application
data bases. And the information system in Human resource application databases process on
it and forward instruction to Manufacturing DSS and manufacturing ES.

In The above flow chart of production department we can see that manager receives the
information about the raw material and then send it to the CNC m/c setting for first turning
operation this department sends that information to prototype production and this department
give the information to the inspection. If there is some problem in the raw material then that
department sent the information to the change process parameters department and it sent back
to CNC m/c setting for first turning operation. Information systems helps us to check the
quality of raw material whether it is good or not. After this inspection information is send to
After all that procedure this information is telling us that the raw material is converted into
the finish good and this is ready for sale. Finished goods are now sent through transports.
Through Information system we can know that all the parts are clean or not. After checking
all the goods information system take the final decision of its final check the quality of goods.
Then Information system is collected information about the packaging / packing of goods and
sends information to the storage department after all that procedure the information finally
goes for delivery for those product
1. In above flow diagram of sales department we can see that information is provided by
the supplier to the manufacturer in the form of raw material. RTA manufacturer
processed on the goods and make them into finished goods. And this department gives
information to the retailer and the retailers finally provide information and sold the
goods to the consumers through the sales process.

In the above flowchart we can see that flow of information for decision making.
Information system is playing a vital vole in this decision making process. It helps the
management to collect right information about the planning implementing and
evaluating of the thoughts of the management. Information System after evaluating
the idea transfers information to the search department where information is collected
and here we can check the different available options for decision making. After this
information is send to the next department to the professional and personal
philosophers. These persons select the information and implement their decisions and
make their decision how can we evaluate and implement our thoughts into our
