Whenthe21stAmendmenttotheU.S.Constitutionwasratified,therewasareasonwhyonly alcohol,andnotmarijuana,waslegalized:marijuanaissimplymoredetrimentaltothemental,physical andemotionalwellbeingofusers.Itcausesthebraintopaintafalseeuphoricpicturethatcoversup realityfortheuserwhichcanimpedehowanindividualmakesdecisionsandreactstovariousactions. Furthermore,smokingmarijuana,whichisthemostcommonformofconsumingit,cancauselasting effectsononesrespiratory,cardiovascularandnervoussystems.Finally,thereisahighchanceof diminishedmentalcapacityanddecreasedbrainfunctionduetomarijuanause.Societycansimplynot letthegeneralpopulacewasteawaytalentandproductivitytoasubstancethatwillbringnothingbuta mereillusionofhappinessandcomfort.
