Makeup and Yahweh

Does wearing makeup offend Yahweh?

We stand in front of the mirror for a few minutes every day and apply our
foundation, rouge, eye shadow, mascara, and lipstick, the things meant to
make us look more attractive to the outer world, and socially acceptable to
other men and women. Makeup is our mask, something used to hide our
blemishes and accentuate our attractive physical qualities. So what does
makeup represent spiritually, and what does scripture have to say?

Enoch 8:1-3
“And Azâzêl taught men to make swords, and knives, and shields, and
breastplates, and made known to them the metals of the earth and the
art of working them, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the use of
antimony, and the beautifying of the eyelids, and all kinds of costly
stones and coloring tinctures. And there arose much godlessness,
and they committed fornication, and they were led astray, and
became corrupt in all their ways. Semjâzâ taught enchantments, and
root-cuttings, 'Armârôs the resolving of enchantments, Barâqîjâl
(taught) astrology, Kôkabêl the constellations, Êzêqêêl the knowledge
of the clouds, Araqiêl the signs of the earth, Shamsiêl the signs of the
sun, and Sariêl the course of the moon. And as men perished, they
cried, and their cry went up to heaven...”

Ezekiel 23:40
“And furthermore, that ye have sent for men to come from far, unto
whom a messenger was sent; and, lo, they came: for whom thou didst
wash thyself, paintedst thy eyes, and deckedst thyself with
ornaments,”
Kings 2:30
“And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she
painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.”

Jeremiah 4:30
“And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest
thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of
gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou
make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy
life.”

1 Timothy 2:9
“In like kind also, that women (should) adorn themselves in modest
apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair,
or gold, or pearls, or costly array;”

Revelations 17:3-5
“And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness: and I saw a
woman sitting upon a scarlet-colored beast, full of names of
blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was
arrayed in purple and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious
stone and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of
abominations, even the unclean things of her fornication, on her
forehead a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE
MOTHER OF THE HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF
THE EARTH.”

Clearly "Makeup" and lavish adornment is compared to the paint and

garments worn by harlots and is not shown in a favorable light in
scripture.
Many uninspired bible students will tell you that Yahweh places much
emphasis on physical imperfections and, in fact, prefers the physically
perfect to the physically flawed, justifying a need for makeup and
adornment, even citing numerous examples in the Bible that “prove” our
Father’s “clear” choice regarding unblemished appearances. Here are just a
few:

Exodus 12:5
You must have an unblemished animal, a year-old male; you may take
it from either the sheep or the goats.

Exodus 29:1
"This is what you are to do for them to consecrate them to serve me as
priests. Take a young bull and two unblemished rams,

Leviticus 1:3, 10
"If his gift is a burnt offering from the herd, he is to bring an
unblemished male. He must bring it to the entrance to the tent of
meeting so that he may be accepted by the Lord. But if his gift for a
burnt offering is from the flock, from sheep or goats, he is to present
an unblemished male.

Numbers 19:2
"This is the legal statute that the Lord has commanded: Instruct the
Israelites to bring you an unblemished red cow that has no defect and
has never been yoked.

Ezekiel 46:4
"The burnt offering that the prince presents to the Lord on the Sabbath
day is to be six unblemished lambs and an unblemished ram.
All offerings of lambs, goats, rams, and bulls are to be unblemished. Does
this prove that Yahweh is trying to tell us that only the physically perfect
human being is acceptable to Him? Is this what we are supposed to assume,
and take literally from the very text of the Bible? After all, doesn’t the New
Testament cite our Messiah as being unblemished?

Peter 1: 18, 19
“knowing that ye were redeemed, not with corruptible things, with
silver or gold, from your vain manner of life handed down from your
fathers; but with precious blood, as of a lamb without spot, even the
blood of Messiah”

And is that, also, what is expected of us, as followers of Messiah?

Ephesians 5: 25-27
“Husbands, love your wives, even as Messiah also loved the
assembly, and gave himself up for it (her); that he might sanctify it
(her), having cleansed it (her) by the washing of water (symbolic for
purification) with the word, that he might present the assembly (her) to
himself a glorious assembly, not having spot or wrinkle or any such
thing; but that it (she) should be holy and without blemish.”

Note: Strong’s Concordance for the word "Blemish."

#3971 m'uwm moom usually muwm {moom}; as if passive
participle from an unused root probably meaning to stain; a
blemish (physically or morally):--blemish, blot, spot.

#8549 tamiym taw-meem' from 8552; entire (literally,

figuratively or morally); also (as a noun) integrity, truth:--
without blemish, complete, full, perfect, sincerely (-ity), sound,
without spot, undefiled, upright(-ly), whole.
#8552 tamam taw-mam' a primitive root; to complete, in a good
or a bad sense, literal, or figurative, transitive or intransitive (as
follows):--accomplish, cease, be clean (pass-)ed, consume, have
done, (come to an, have an, make an) end, fail, come to the full,
be all gone, X be all here, be (to make) perfect, be spent, sum,
be (shew self) upright, be wasted, whole.

My Sisters, Yahweh is not trying to teach us that we need to be physically

perfect to enter His House and be members of "The Coming Kingdom on
Earth," He is using a physical to Spiritual parallel to teach us something
entirely different.

Messiah made this point very clear when he said:

Matthew 5:48
Be perfect, therefore, as (in the same manner as) your heavenly Father
is perfect (Righteousness).

Messiah Yahshua is NOT talking about physical perfection or imperfection

any more than Yahweh is trying to teach us that we need to be physically
perfect. He is teaching us that our soul is what needs to be perfected in
Righteousness. Yahweh isn’t interested in our physical forms, which rot in
the dust. This is a clever trick from HaSatan to confuse the issue so that WE
are only focused on pleasing our Father with our physical appearance, and
man, and our own vanity too, for that matter. After all, isn’t makeup
really just a type of deception and a lie? Why are WE so ashamed of our
flawed physical appearance (vanity?) when it is the flaws in our soul(s) that
deserve our attention and shame? When we love our Father and wish to
please Him, our physical appearance loses its value and is no longer relevant
to us because it isn’t relevant to our Father Yahweh (Nor is it relevant to a True
Man of G_d).

We, as women, can, also, then assume that this not only includes makeup,
but weight loss medications, gyms, spas, fashionable clothing, anti-wrinkle
creams and plastic surgery, and all other deceptions that are meant to divert
our attention from our Father Yahweh’s loving kindness and lure us further
into the deception of a self-centered world that makes its lustful demands
on us, and has absolutely nothing to do with REAL LOVE.

Having said this, if you find that your husband and/or the demands of
society insist that you wear makeup for him/them, and/or keep physically
attractive ("In Shape"), then you must make some choices. In the privacy of
your own home or bedroom, wear the makeup just for your husband,
because Yahweh has allowed this.

Hebrews 13:4
Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but
whoremongers and adulterers G_d will judge.

Psalms 119:1
Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the
LORD, Yahweh.

For those of you, who feel that you must wear some makeup, then do so
with extreme modesty, trying to appear as natural as possible. However, no
longer allow yourself to apply that makeup out of sheer vanity, because it
makes YOU feel better about your appearance. After all, Yahweh is
interested in the “Intent of The Heart” and His opinion of us is what really
matters here.
