Kharif Sowing Crosses 1046 Lakh Hectare Mark

The total kharif sown area, as per reports received from States, during the week ending on 4.10.2013 stands at 1046.32 lakh hectare as compared to 998.70 hectare at this time last year. Sowing of kharif crops shown a steady increase during the week ending on 30th August. The total sown area, as per reports received from States, stands at 1003.82 lakh hectare as compared to 939.61 hectare at this time last year.
