The U.S Federal Government has shutdown, but what are the consequences?

I'm sure many of you have learned about the federal shutdown that is currently happening in the United States. Thousands of workers are furloughed and the economy is suffering greatly while federal agencies are shutting down one after the other. Vital agencies such as the Center for Disease Control have been shutdown since October 1st and the longer the shutdown continues, the closer will we get in reaching the debt ceiling. The entire reason for the shutdown is ridiculous and I personally think that the people responsible for this mess are acting like children who can't settle disputes properly and should be fired immediately.

Commented [AV1]: Your intro paragraph should be the summarizer of whats to come in your essay. Wheres your thesis? Commented [AV2]: Right here is where your supporting arguments should be. Commented [AV3]: This is your thesis for what YOU say, in response to what has been happening. Formatted: Justified Commented [AV4]: This is your thesis for what YOU say, in response to what has been happening. Commented [AV5]: The transition can be better. Commented [AV6]: Something to think about your audience reading it, do they know what this is? because sadly, some dont. Commented [AV7]: redundant

The entire reason for the shutdown is ridiculous and I personally think that the people responsible for this mess are acting like children who can't settle disputes properly and should be fired immediately. Basically, the Republicans do not want the Affordable Care Act (i.e. Obamacare) to be passed and will try to do anything to stop it, including holding the entire U.S government hostage. Their way of going about this is to modify the yearly budget so that it will delay or suspend Obamacare entirely and obviously the Democrats obviously don't want to do this. The result is a childish battle that costs the entire nation billions of dollars per day. If this continues any longer, the government will reach a sort-of threshold known as the debt ceiling, . The debt ceiling is the threshold to it measures how much the United States can borrow from other countries. To pay off their debt, they have to borrow even more;, reaching this threshold would be disastrous to the U.S as for they will not be able to take any more loans to pay their debts and will therefore default on their debts. This would create a dominio effect that would trigger a nation-wide recession and a global financial crisis. This deadline is on October 17th and Congress must resolve their disputes before then or else the United States will default. Now the only way to actually solve this crisis is to just pass the budget and get it over with. Although logic seems to be the best way of solving this, it comes down to the fundamental ideologies for both of the parties. The Democrats want people to have more affordable healthcare, even if it requires the companies to pay for it while the republicans do not want the companies to pay for the healthcare. They think that having more government or /corporate intrusion into ones personal life is not the way to go, rather that the people themselves should be able to decide if they should have an healthcare insurance or not, and not the government. The Democrats, on the other hand, believe that Obamacare is one of the few things that have been on the top of their agenda ever since Obama was elected. They believe that Obamacare was one of the major reasons why Obama was elected and therefore they must fulfill his promises by passing this bill. Although this comes down to the very ideologies of the parties themselves, there must still be a solution to how to solve the entire problem. One solution that has been used in another country, [insert country],ies is to fire congress and call for aan emergency election; as the representatives for the people have not been able to do their job. This method has worked in other countries such as during the 1975 Australian constitutional crisis but it would not work in the United States due to the fact that the U.S Constitution does not have a mechanic where one can call a reelection. The most possible way is to compromise, which none of the parties are willing to do.

Commented [AV8]: switch this up a bit, you use this to reference a lot of aforementioned things yet its not interesting and your diction could diversify more. Commented [AV9]: Condescending

Commented [AV10]: Wheres your evidence? Wheres a plausible source? Commented [AV11]: This was used in the last paragraph as well. Diversify. Commented [AV12]: Awkward sentence. Commented [AV13]: Combine these sentence, redundancy and awkward.

The federal shutdown is an interesting thing to watch and hopefully there will be a solution to the entire matter before the October 17th deadline. I'll make sure to cover the important developments as they happen. Where the fuck is your conclusion? You dont even talk about those who were furloughed.
