About Your G-202
The G-202 is a wireless network USB adapter for your
computer.
Installation Requirements
Before installation, make sure you have a computer with the
following:
Pentium II 300MHz or above
A minimum of 20 MB available hard disk space
A minimum of 32 MB RAM
A CD-ROM drive
A USB port (with USB1.0/1.1, the G-202 can only transmit at
up to 11Mbps.)
Windows 98 Second Edition (SE), Windows ME, Windows
2000, Windows XP or Windows Vista
Windows 98 SE users may need the Windows 98 SE CD.
Note for Windows Vista Users: Some features in the ZyXEL
utility are not available when using Windows Vista. Please
refer to the Users Guide for more information.

If you have already installed Funk Odyssey
Client software on the computer, uninstall
(remove) it.
1 Installation
The installation procedures are similar for all supported
Windows versions.
Install the ZyXEL Utility before you insert the G-
202.
1 Insert the included CD into the CD-ROM drive on your
computer. When the following screen displays, click
Setup. If the screen does not display, locate and double-
click autorun.exe.

2 Select your language and click OK.
3 The following screen displays. Click Next.
4 Select Driver and Utility to install both ZyXEL utility and
driver on your computer. If you want to install the driver
only and use Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) with
Windows XP, select Driver only. Click Next to accept the
default file location or click Browse to select an alternate
folder.

5 Click Finish to restart the computer.
6 Locate an available USB port on the computer.
7 Remove the protective cap
to expose the USB
connector. Insert the G-
202 to an available USB
port on the computer. The
G-202s lights turn on if it is
properly inserted.
Never bend, force or twist the G-202 into the
port.
After you install the ZyXEL utility and insert the G-202, an
icon appears in the system tray (typically at the bottom of the
desktop).
If the icon color is green and/or you see the following icon
on your desktop, you are already connected to a wireless
network.
2 Connect to a Wireless Network
Using WPS
You can use Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) to add your
computer to a wireless network.

The G-202 supports two WPS methods for creating a secure
connection:
Push Button Configuration (recommended) - create a
secure wireless network simply by clicking a button. See
section 2.2.
PIN Configuration - create a secure wireless network by
entering the G-202s PIN (Personal Identification Number)
into the configuration screen of an Access Point (AP). See
section 2.3.
2.1 Open the Utility

The G-202 automatically connects to an available wireless
network without security enabled. However, this wireless
network may not be connected to the Internet.
If the icon is green you are already connected to a
wireless network.
If the icon is red, you are not connected to a wireless
network.
3 Click the Adapter tab.

2.2 Push Button Configuration
1 Make sure that your wireless AP (Access Point) is turned
on and that it is within range of your computer.
2 In the Adapter screen, select WPS (Wi-Fi Protected
Setup) and PBC (Push Button Configuration).
3 Click Start.
4 Press the WPS button on your wireless AP (ZyXELs
NWA570N is shown as an example). It doesnt matter

which button is pressed first. You must press the second
button within two minutes of pressing the first one.
5 The AP and the G-202 establish a secure connection. This
can take up to two minutes.
6 You are now ready to connect to the Internet wirelessly
through your G-202.
Congratulations - you have finished!
2.3 WPS PIN Configuration
This section shows you how to use the WPS PIN method to
connect to an AP.
Do this only if you did not use the push-button WPS method
(see 2.2).
1 In the WPS section of the Adapter screen, select WPS
and PIN. Write down the 8-digit PIN that is displayed in

the grayed-out text field. You will need to enter this PIN in
the WPS screen of the AP.
2 Launch your APs configuration utility, go to the screen
where you can configure the WPS settings and enter the
G-202s PIN (an example screen from ZyXELs NWA570N
is shown).
3 Click Start in the G-202 Adapter screen and Apply or
Start in the APs WPS screen within two minutes.
The AP authenticates the G-202 and sends the proper
configuration settings to the G-202. This may take up to two
minutes. The G-202 is now able to communicate with the AP
securely.

Troubleshooting
If the lights on the G-202 are not on after you installed the
utility and the G-202, make sure the G-202 is properly
inserted.
If the icon does not display, uninstall and re-install the util-
ity. See the Users Guide for how to uninstall the utility.
If your G-202 does not connect to a wireless network, make
sure there is an available wireless network within range (see
your Users Guide for details about the site survey feature). If
wireless security is enabled for that network, you need to
configure security settings in your G-202 (see the Users
Guide).
Note for Windows XP Users: If you want to use WZC, either
disable the ZyXEL utility (if you already installed it) or just
install the driver.
To disable the ZyXEL utility, right-click the icon and select
Exit. To activate the ZyXEL utility again, double-click the
icon on your desktop or click Start > Programs > ZyXEL G-
202 Wireless Adapter Utility > ZyXEL G-202 Wireless
Adapter Utility.
To install the driver only, select Driver only.

Wenn auf Ihrem Computer das Programm Funk
Odyssey Client installiert ist, muss dieses
zunchst deinstalliert (entfernt) werden.
1 Installation

Installieren Sie das ZyXEL-Utility-Programm
bevor Sie den G-202 einsetzen.
1 Legen Sie die mitgelieferte CD in das CD-ROM-Laufwerk
des Computers ein. Wenn das folgende Fenster erscheint,
klicken Sie auf Setup. Wenn dieses Fenster nicht

erscheinen sollte, navigieren Sie auf der CD zur Datei
autorun.exe und klicken Sie doppelt darauf.
2 Whlen Sie Ihre Sprache und klicken Sie auf OK.
3 Das folgende Fenster erscheint. Klicken Sie auf Next
(Weiter).
4 Whlen Sie Driver (Treiber) und Utility (Hilfsprogramm),
um den ZyXEL-Treiber und das ZyXEL-Utility auf dem
Computer zu installieren. Wenn Sie nur den Treiber
installieren aber die Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) mit
Windows XP verwenden mchten, whlen Sie nur Driver

7 Entfernen Sie die Schutzkappe vom USB-Stecker.
Stecken Sie den G-202 in den USB-Anschluss des
Computers.
Wenn der G-202 richtig
eingesetzt wurde, beginnen
die LEDs zu leuchten.

Versuchen Sie unter keinen Umstanden, den G-
202 durch Biegen, Drehen odersonstige
Gewaltanwendung in den Einschub zu
schieben.
Nach Installation des ZyXEL Utility und Einschieben der G-
202 erscheint ein Symbol im Infobereich (normalerweise im
unteren Bereich des Bildschirms).
Wenn die Anzeige grun leuchtet und/oder auf dem
Bildschirm das folgende Symbol angezeigt wird, ist das Gert
bereit, eine Verbindung zu einem Drahtlosnetzwerk
herzustellen.
2 Herstellen der Verbindung zu einem
drahtlosen Netzwerk mittels WPS
Mit der WPS-Funktion knnen Sie Ihren Computer zu einem
Drahtlosnetzwerk hinzufugen.
Der G-202 unterstutzt zwei WPS-Methoden, um eine sichere
Verbindung herzustellen:
Tastenkonfiguration (empfohlen) - Sie erstellen ein
sicheres Drahtlosnetzwerk, indem Sie auf eine Taste
drcken. Siehe Abschnitt 2.2.

1 Klicken Sie auf die Registerkarte Adapter.
2.2 Tastenkonfiguration
1 Stellen Sie sicher, dass der drahtlose AP eingeschaltet ist

knnen Sie ber Ihren G-202 eine drahtlose Verbindung
zum Internet herstellen.

2.3 WPS PIN-Konfiguration

1 Whlen Sie im Bereich WPS des Fensters Adapter die

Strungsbeseitigung
Wenn nach dem Einsetzen der G-202 und dem Installieren
des Utility-Programms die LEDs der G-202 nicht leuchten,
prfen Sie noch einmal, ob der G-202 richtig eingesetzt
wurde.
Wenn das Symbol nicht angezeigt wird, deinstal-lieren
Sie das Utility-Programm und installieren Sie es erneut. Im
Benutzerhandbuch finden Sie eine Be-schreibung, wie das
Utility-Programm deinstalliert wird.
Wenn der G-202 keine Verbindung zu einem Drahtlos-
netzwerk herstellen kann, stellen Sie sicher, dass sich ein
solches Netzwerk innerhalb der Reichweite befindet (im
Benutzerhandbuch finden Sie ausfhrliche Informationen zur
Siteabfragefunktion). Wenn die Drahtlossicherheit fr dieses
Netzwerk aktiviert ist, mssen die Sicherheitseinstellungen

2 Conectar a una red inalmbrica
utilizando WPS
Puede utilizar Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) para aadir su
ordenador a una red inalmbrica.
El G-202 soporta dos mtodos WPS para crear una conexin
segura:
Presionando un botn (recomendado) - crea una red
inalmbrica simplemente presionando un botn. Consulte la
seccin 2.2.
PIN Configuration (Configuracin PIN) - crea una red
inalmbrica segura introduciendo el PIN (Personal Identifica-
tion Number) del G-202 en la pantalla de configuracin de un

inalmbrica puede no estar conectada a Internet.

2.3 Configuracin WPS PIN

A propos de votre ZyXEL G-202
Le ZyXEL G-202 est un adaptateur reseau USB sans fil pour
votre ordinateur.
Configuration requise
Avant l'installation, assurez-vous que vous avez un ordinateur
avec la configuration suivante:
Pentium II 300MHz ou plus
Au minimum 20 Mo d'espace disponible sur le disque dur
An minimum 32 Mo de RAM
Un lecteur de CD-ROM
Un port USB (avec USB1.0/1.1, le G-202 peut uniquement
transmettre un dbit maximum de 11Mbps)
Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows ME, Windows 2000,
Windows XP ou Windows Vista
Il se peut que les utilisateurs de Windows 98 SE aient besoin
du CD Windows 98 SE
Remarque pour les utilisateurs de Windows Vista :
Certaines fonctionnalit de l'utilitaire ZyXEL ne sont pas
disponibles avec Windows Vista. Consultez le guide de

Si vous avez dj install le logiciel Funk Odyssey
Client sur l'ordinateur, dsinstallez-le (retirez-le).
1 Installation
Les procedures d'installation sont similaires pour toutes les
versions de Windows prises en charge.
Installez l'utilitaire ZyXEL avant d'inserer la G-
202.
1 Insrez le CD inclus dans le lecteur CD-ROM de votre
ordinateur. Quand l'cran suivant apparat, cliquez sur
Setup. Si l'cran n'apparat pas, localisez et double cliquez
sur autorun.exe.
2 Slectionnez votre langue et cliquez sur OK.

3 L'cran suivant s'affiche. Cliquez sur Suivant.
4 Slectionner Driver (Pilote) et Utility (Utilitaire) pour
installer la fois l'utilitaire et le pilote de ZyXEL sur votre
ordinateur. Si vous voulez installer uniquement le pilote et
utiliser Wireless Zero Configuration (Configuration zro sans
fil) (WZC) avec Windows XP, slectionnez seulement Driver
(Pilote). Cliquez sur Next (Suivant) pour accepter

Browse (Parcourir) pour slectionner un autre dossier.
5 Cliquez sur Finish (Terminer) pour redmarrer votre
ordinateur.
6 Recherchez un emplacement USB disponible sur

USB. Insrez le G-202 dans
un port USB disponible sur
l'ordinateur. Les tmoins
lumineux de la G-202

Ne jamais courber, forcer ou tordre la G-202
pour la faire entrer dans l'emplacement.

Aprs que vous avez install l'utilitaire ZyXEL et insr la G-202,
une icne s'affiche dans la barre systme (normalement la
base de l'cran).
Si la couleur de l'icne est verte et/ou vous voyez l'icne
suivante sur votre cran, vous tes dj connect un rseau
sans fil.
2 Se connecter un rseau sans fil
l'aide de WPS
Vous pouvez utiliser WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) pour
ajouter votre ordinateur un rseau sans fil.
Le G-202 supporte deux mthodes WPS pour crer une
connexion scurise:
Appuyer sur le bouton Configuration (Recommand) -
crez un rseau sans fil scuris d'une simple pression sur
un bouton. Voir la section 2.2.
Configuration du PIN - crez un rseau sans fil scuris en
entrant le code PIN (Personal Identification Number) du G-
202 dans l'cran configuration d'un point d'accs (AP). Voir
la section 2.3.

Le G-202 recherche automatiquement les rseaux
disponibles et se connecte un rseau sans fil non scuris.
Cependant, ce rseau sans fil n'est peut-tre pas connect
Internet.
Si la couleur de l'icne est rouge, vous n'tes pas
connect un rseau sans fil.
Si la couleur de l'icne est verte, vous tes dj connect
un rseau sans fil.
1 Cliquez sur l'onglet Adapter (Adaptateur).
2.2 Appuyez sur le bouton Configuration
1 Assurez-vous que votre AP (Access Point) sans fil est
allum et qu'il est porte de votre ordinateur.
2 Dans l'cran Adaptor (Adaptateur) slectionnez WPS (Wi-
Fi Protected Setup) (Installation Wi-Fi protge) et PBC

3 Cliquez sur Start (Dmarrer).
4 Appuyez sur le bouton WPS sur votre AP sans fil
(NWA570N de ZyXEL est indiqu comme exemple).
L'ordre de pression des boutons n'a pas d'importance.
Vous devez appuyer sur le second bouton dans les deux
minutes qui suivent l'appui sur le premier.

2.3 Configuration du code PIN WPS
Cette section montre comment utiliser la mthode PIN WPS
pour vous connecter un AP.
Procdez ainsi uniquement si vous n'utilisez pas la mthode
WPS presse-bouton (voir 2.2).
1 Dans la section WPS de l'cran de l'Adaptateur,
slectionnez WPS et PIN. Notez le code PIN 8 chiffres
qui s'affiche dans le champ texte en gris. Si vous devez
entrer ce PIN dans l'cran WPS de l'AP.

2 Lancez l'utilitaire de configuration de votre AP, allez
l'cran o vous pouvez configurer les paramtres WPS et
entrez le PIN du G-202 (un cran d'exemple du NWA570N
du ZyXEL est prsent).
3 Cliquez sur Start (Dmarrer) dans l'cran Adapter
(Adaptateur) G-202 et Apply (Appliquer) ou Start
(Dmarrer) dans l'cran WPS de l'AP en l'espace de deux
minutes.
L'AP authentifie le G-202 et envoie les paramtres de
configuration adquats au G-202. Cela peut prendre jusqu'
deux minutes. Le G-202 peut maintenant communiquer avec
l'AP de manire scurise.

Depannage
Si les temoins lumineux sur la G-202 ne sont pas allumes
apres avoir installe l'utilitaire et la G-202, verifiez que la G-
202 est correctement insere.
Si l'icne ne s'affiche pas, dsinstallez et rinstallez l'utili-
taire. Consultez le guide de l'utilisateur pour la manire de
dsinstaller l'utilitaire.

Si votre G-202 ne se connecte pas un rseau sans fil, vri-
fiez qu'il y a un rseau sans fil disponible porte (con-
sultez votre guide de l'utilisateur pour les dtails concernant
la fonctionnalit d'inspection de site). Si la scurit sans fil
est dsactive pour ce rseau, vous devez configurer les
paramtres de scurit dans votre G-202 (consulter le guide
de l'utilisateur).
Remarques pour les utilisateurs de Windows XP: Si vous
voulez utiliser WZC, vous pouvez soit dsactiver l'utilitaire
ZyXEL (si vous l'avez dj install) soit simplement installer le
pilote.
Pour desactiver l'utilitaire ZyXEL, cliquez avec le bouton droit
de la souris sur l'icone et slectionnez Exit (Quitter). Pour
activer nouveau l'utilitaire ZyXEL, double cliquez sur l'icne
sur votre bureau ou cliquez sur Start (Dmarrer), (All)
Programmes ((Tous) programmes), ZyXEL G-202 Wireless
Adapter Utility (utilitaire d'adaptateur sans fil ZyXEL G-202),

1 Installazione
Le procedure di installazione sono simili per tutte le versioni di
Windows supportate.
Installare ZyXEL Utility prima di inserire la G-
202.
1 Inserire il CD fornito a corredo nell'unit CD-ROM del
computer. Alla visualizzazione della schermata seguente,
fare clic su Setup (installazione). Se la schermata non
viene visualizzata, individuare e fare doppio clic sul file
autorun.exe.

2 Selezionare la lingua e fare clic su OK.
3 Viene visualizzata la seguente schermata. Premere Avanti.
4 Selezionare Driver e Utility per installare sia l'utility ZyXEL
sia il driver sul computer. Se si desidera installare solo il
driver e utilizzare Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) di
Windows XP, selezionare solo Driver. Premere Avanti per
accettare la posizione predefinita del file, oppure premere
Sfoglia per scegliere un'altra cartella.

una rete wireless.
2 Connessione a una rete wireless
tramite WPS
possibile utilizzare WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) per
aggiungere il computer alla propria rete wireless.

L'G-202 supporta due metodi WPS per la creazione di una
connessione sicura:
Configurazione con un tasto (consigliata) - consente di
creare una rete wireless sicura con la semplice pressione di
un pulsante. Vedere la sezione 2.2.
PIN Configuration (configurazione PIN) - consente di
creare una rete wireless sicura immettendo il PIN (Personal
Identification Number) dell'G-202 nella schermata di config-
urazione di un Access Point (AP). Vedere la sezione 2.3.

2.3 Configurazione PIN WPS
In questa sezione viene illustrato come utilizzare il metodo
del PIN WPS per connettersi a un AP.
1 Eseguire questa procedura solo se non si utilizza il
metodo del pulsante WPS (vedere 2.2).
2 Nella sezione WPS della schermata Adapter (adattatore)
selezionare WPS e PIN. Annotare il PIN di 8 cifre

inserire questo PIN nella schermata WPS dell'AP.
3 Avviare l'utilit di configurazione dell'AP, aprire la

schermata di esempio dell'NWA570N di ZyXEL).
4 Scegliere Start nella schermata G-202 Adapter
(adattatore) e quindi Apply oppure Start nella schermata
WPS dell'AP entro due minuti.
L'AP autentica l'G-202 e invia la configurazione corretta all'G-
202. L'operazione pu richiedere fino a due minuti. L'G-202
ora in grado di comunicare in sicurezza con l'AP.

Risoluzione dei problemi
Se le luci sulla G-202 non sono accese dopo aver installato i
software di utilita e la G-202, verificare che la scheda G-202
sia correttamente inserita.
Se l'icona non viene visualizzata, disinstallare e reinstal-
lare l'utility. Fare riferimento alla Guida utente per le istruzioni
su come disinstallare l'utility.
Se la G-202 non si connette a una rete wireless, verificare
che vi sia una rete wireless disponibile nel campo (vedere la
Guida utente per i dettagli relativi alla funzione di analisi del
luogo). Se per tale rete attivata la protezione wireless,
necessario configurare le impostazioni di protezione sulla G-
202 (vedere la Guida utente).
Nota per gli utenti di Windows XP: Se si desidera utilizzare la
funzionalit WZC, disabilitare ZyXEL Utility (se gi installato)
oppure installare unicamente il driver.
Per disabiltiare l'utility ZyXEL, fare clic con il pulsante destro
del mouse sull'icona e selezionare Esci. Per attivare nuo-

verktyget igen genom att dubbelklicka p ikonen p ditt
skrivbord eller genom att klicka p Start, (All) Programs,
ZyXEL G-202 Wireless Adapter Utility, (trdlst
adapterverktyg) ZyXEL G-202 Wireless Adapter Utility
(trdls adapterprogramvara).
