G 1.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Composition and Construction The composition and construction (as agreed with the supplier) of parts approved to this standard shall be specified on the relevant engineering drawing. Identification All parts shall be identified with the manufacturer's reference and batch number and the appropriate Jaguar Land Rover part number. Dimensions and tolerances The dimensions and tolerances of the component shall be as specified on the relevant engineering drawing. Finished Parts In addition to the referenced minimum requirements, production assemblies must withstand handling during shipping, installation, use and service, without breaking or permanently deforming. Storage Components shall be capable of meeting the requirements of this standard. Additionally, they shall perform satisfactorily in service following storage in a clean dry area in temperatures ranging from 5 C to 30 C and away from direct sunlight and solvent vapours. The method of storage shall be agreed between the supplier and JLR Purchasing and Stores departments. Service Conditions When used for the intended application, the material must be capable of performing satisfactorily under all service conditions likely to be encountered. This includes a wide range of humidity and temperatures from 40 C up to the maximum in-service temperature (maximum temperature can be >150 C for certain applications). Vehicle Interior Environmental Quality All materials/components located in the passenger cabin, load space and air filtration system, shall comply with the requirements of WSS-M99P2222-A1 "Vehicle Interior Environment Quality Material / Component Requirements". It is the material supplier's responsibility to ensure the material complies. The supplier shall arrange testing to WSS-M99P2222-A1. SAMPLE REQUIREMENTS Wherever possible, production intent assemblies and components shall be used for evaluation purposes. If this is not possible representative sections of material may be used after prior approval from JLR Materials Engineering.
