Introduction:
This course is intended for the students, who are either weak in college level Mathematics (obtained grade below C in HSC) or do not have a pass grade or have not studied Mathematics at all in HSC level.

Course Objective:
At the end of the course, the participants will be able to understand and explain the fundamental concepts of Mathematics. The syllabus is arranged in such a way to demonstrate a confident knowledge of the techniques of mathematics specified in the course. To prepare the students for Mathematics I (MAT 102) course of BSTE program

Course Details
1. Algebra 2. Geometry 3. Calculus Relations and functions, domain and range of a function. Limits and continuity. Cartesian and polar coordinates and their relationship. To form the equations of straight lines, angle between two given straight lines, area of the triangle formed by the three lines. To form the equation of circles and some problems relate with circles. Real number system and their properties. Elementary set theory. Exponents and radicals, polynomials and rational expressions. Determinant and matrix. Linear and quadratic equations.

Computation of Derivatives: The Power Rule, The Product and Quotient Rules. Derivatives of Trigonometric, Exponential and Logarithmic Functions. Integration: Review of Formulas and Techniques, Integration by parts, Integration by substitution.
